Windows 7, just like Vista before it, will fill up any available RAM with parts of frequently used software when idle. Because free RAM is a wasted RAM. After all when the memory is needed it can be emptied in miliseconds.

Memory allocation crashes have nothing to do with how much memory you have and everything with buggy code.

All the misc software (antivirus, msn, the download manager, the crappy thing you installed Gods' know what for...) that stays in the background also consumes RAM, apart of the OS. I'm talking about personal experience having (now) a 100% clean system. I've even reached 2,3 GB's of used RAM on an extremely dirty system, and load times with Crysis 1 were hell (poor HD...).

Although I agree on the buggy code part. Bethesda could put some work in their Skyrim RAM garbage collector. Alhough a game that big...I don't know.

Hopefully they make the game playable on PS3.

Be careful, the OS and all the applications you've running consume memory as well. W7 64 bits alone with all non-essential services shutted down and the RAM cleaned reaches almost 1 GB of RAM use. Other more crowded installations will easily reach 2 GB's or so.

I personally think Skyrim + LAA (+ mods in the near future) is worth spending 20 bucks to upgrade from 4 to 6 GB's of RAM.

My CPU can't do 4GB. 3GB is abnormally low, 6GB is the norm, 12GB (mine) is high-end, and 18/24GB is WTFBBQ.

Can't wait for CK.

I guess you haven't experienced the shrieking nerd raging d-bags on the Dragon Age boards.

What do you call a bunch of Dragon Age fans in a basemant?

A whine cellar.

Hah and rightly so... DA2 was horrible. This game however is actually quite nice

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1300562-skyrim-what-were-working-on/page__view__findpost__p__19768966 confirmed that 1.3 is finished and (for consoles) has been sent out for distribution. What things are you hoping were addressed?

While we know (or at least hope) that the issues raised by 1.2 are fixed, I also believe they fixed the moonwalking dragon and the associated framerate drop. Personally, I hope they fixed the broken treasure hunt questline.

It lists the patch notes in GStaffs post...

The only reason the patches were delayed is that they had to be certified first, whereas PC ones do not.
