How could they have not added cats to this game yet?

The Sabrecats ate all the ones that didn't stand upright and talk?

Hahah, true! I am actually surprised there isn't a "domestic" cat mod for the PC version of the game. The only thing I can find are miniaturized saber cats.. which is just weird.

I hope someone will report a baby sabre cat sooner or later (and that everything pet-related is added to uesp soon). It can't be anymore dangerous than a baby spider right?

On my first char I let the kids have Vigilance and a fox. Hope on the new one I just made I'll get a spider and a mudcrab, if not a precious sabre kitty.

They'll never beat the almighty mini monkeys. If I get rich I am seriously going to look into acquiring a shedload of these. Saw some at an aquarium (of all places) amd fell in love. wow i want one of those now but my better half of my brain knows that there will be mini poop and pee everywhere those adorable little guys go. also i have an 18 month old baby barbarian that would probably break it

So speaking on the issue of pets. If I get a pet dog like meeko or vigilante, if I tell them to go home will they go back to my new built house or?? If they don't what dog will go back to my new house if it's possible?

Can the fox be a snow fox? I prefer the white ones.

I would really like a pet Draugr, maybe one of the bearded females. I think it would be fun watching them play together.

Nothing happened with me waiting, so I went to Markarth's Stables, bought a dog, brought it back. Kid said she wanted it, so I said it could stay when it wasn't out with me. When I dismissed the dog, it went back to my house.

So far just a rabbit, which is fine, it seems to cause no trouble. A fox would have been nicer though.

The amount of time for a child to bring you a pet is random.

It took about 2 weeks in game for my children to bring me a pet. Samuel brought a pet Skeever home, I told him he could keep it. I named him Alfred.

how exactly do kids bring home animals, are you gone a day and return to find a new pet or do you have to bring the kid with you and come across a wild animal to make a pet? Also do you need to have 2 kids first or will one kid find the pet?

thanks for any help as i just adopted lucia last night and left for a day but found no pet or anything but i didn't play with her yet or try to bring her along on an adventure

They will bring you a pet randomly. I did an Imperial quest, and when I came back Samuel found a baby skeever.

There are, they are Khajiit that were born under a certain moon (atleast in lore), and the superior Khajiit treat them as little brothers and sisters, so, likewise they wouldn't be selling them as personal pets.

my daughters brought home an adorable rabbit named cotton. By the way, they refuse to talk to you if you kill their pets.

Really Bethesda? Eveytime I run past one of them those bastards hunt me down. But your kid somehow managed to pick one of them up and take them home. Without getting attacked by it? That's some nice writing right there Bethesda.

No Dogs.

Really Bethesda.

Bring a dog home and convince them to adopt. Dorthe adopted a rabbit, Braggen brought Meeko home as a follower, Dorthe's reaction was, stupid dog. Fine Braggen wandered all over the house with Meeko, the kid never warmed up to him. Braggen told Meeko to wait where Dorthe was sitting, left to do other things in Skyrim. Meeko stayed a long time, came back Dorthe wants a dog, fancy that.

Meeko now has a home and Dorthe has two pets.

When my second character eventually starts house building she will be trying to get a very cute husky adopted.

They have been adopted so they should return to their new home, I hate travelling with dogs though, so Meeko will be staying home keeping the rabbit company. I am still waiting to see if he eats the rabbit. The pet belongs to the child not you, they have to be the ones who adopt the pet.
