[WIPRELz] PISE - Pluto's Improved Skyrim Experience Thread #

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 9:17 am

Good to hear. :)

Soulmancer; with some scripts, I think. I'm not sure what a chunk of the pathfinding variables do, but I'm pretty sure I can't get them to do that without some additional scripts.

Thanks everyone for the support!

I used 0.8beta for some hours, haven't seen any glitches for now.

Hey, just wanted to clarify something. Does the main version have all the seperated version features? I wasn't sure when I was going back over the readme. I had been using the modular version because I didn't want the sneak perks, but wanted to give the whole thing a go.

Yep. It includes all of the separated files, but not any of the optionals (though some optionals modify the main or separated components).

And I'd venture to say that the sneak changes make much less of a change than the AI changes which make the NPC's 'call' for allies, or in some ways the sound level changes. Enemies are much more likely to come from the next room over unless the combat's pretty quiet.

When I was updating today I realized the only part I wasn't using was the sneak changes, so I decided to try it out. Your changes make clearing a tough dungeon much more fulfilling.

I'm guessing this has been asked over and over. But I'm a newie and can't find it. I just started modding my skyrim a bit and I'm wondering how to get all these mods working together with SKSE. As far as I know, I have to start Skyrim through the SKSE launcher to get SKSE working, but to get all the mods working I need to use NMM. How do I get both working together?
Doesn't really have anything to do with PISE really, but it's one of the mods I use that I don't want to have any problems with :)

You don't need to launch with NMM  Just organize your mods there if that's your mod manager of choice. Then launch via SKSE launcher is fine. But there is an option to launch via NMM with SKSE. There's a dropdown right beside the "Launch Skyrim" that gives you a "Launch SKSE" option.

NMM is just an interface to organize mods and such. It isn't mandatory to launch through the manager itself. It's just there as an option :)

Thanks man! I seem to remember I had to load Oblivion through the mod launcher when I used that, perpahs it's not the same in Skyrim.

I've always thought it was odd, no matter how strong the dragonborn is, invading a cave, fort, whatever just whenever you feel like and expecting an easy fight was just silly. :P

And the sneak changes were a direct result of watching my girlfriend get sneak attacks when standing in front of people. <_<

I think I forgot some of the ingot changes in vendors, but I can't remember offhand.. gotta go check.

Edit: Yep, I did. Version 0.81 will come later with the added vendor changes. How much else it includes depends on how much work I want to do. :P

A dungeon report: Shriekwind Bastion

Character Summary

Mage, Level 4-5 (level up half-way through the dungeon)
Magic resist: 50%

Monster summary

Highest level monster/boss: Master Vampire (level 23). Uses Ice Spike, single cast. Wielding iron sword. Could one-hit my mage if in melee range. His spell (Ice spike) hurts, but because of 50% magic resist, not enough to be overly dangerous. Was able to defeat after running and finding an elevated spot where he couldn't get up to. Able to dodge his Ice Spike and cast Flames to kill. Not proud of my cheese tactic, but a kill's a kill :)

Lowest level monster: skeleton archer (level 1).

Other monsters of note: Vampire thrall (level 1). Weird level on this one.
Blooded vampire (level 12). She somehow prefers to stay back and cast that vampire Drain Life spell instead of moving to melee range and attack. If she would have gone into melee, probably would have 1-shot my mage.
Because she didn't melee, and her Drain life spell didn't do enough damage (my 50% magic resist), she was an easy kill.
Restless draugr (level 6). Melee axe and Frostbite spell. Rose out of the lone coffin in front of a Word Wall.

Loot summary: Dungeon boss chest - 5 items, most notably a Dwarven Bow.
Other notable loot: Elven Gauntlets just laying around.

Dungeon summary: The master vampire was tough, possibly impossible to kill at my mage level if not for a cheap tactic. My mage would be screwed if the Master Vampire would just have jump to get to my spot. The fight afterwards (with the Restless Draugr) guarding the Word Wall was anti-climatic (still tough, but nothing compared to the Master Vampire).

Sounds about right for Shriekwind Bastion.. :P

So, I sort've got drunk on Bailey's and playing LOTR: War in the North with two friends. No updates tonight. <_<

Would this mod be compatible if I loaded it after PISE?

Minor conflicts, not too extreme. I'll be doing something similar, but a little fancier with scripting later.

steepledhat; thanks. :D My friend bought a bottle and didn't like it. So I ended up finishing all of it that was poured, as I'm not about to let it go to waste. My favorite drink.

Amazing mod. I've combined it with balanced magic master version and armoury of Tamriel. I've been streaming dead is des master difficulty on it. First character a feral dual wield died to a bounty hunter. Mage is lvl 9 still going strong. My viewers are digging PISE!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I looked through all the posts and read me and everything for PISE and couldnt find my answer.

Are all the seperated .esp included in the main .esp, or do I need to include the in my data folder as well?

The seperated .esp files are all in the main PISE.esp file, yes. The optionals, however, are not.
