At least you still got to keep a character. My little brother deleted my Xbox account, and while I got my profile back, I lost every game I ever played…I understand how you feel, it svcks.

Arhg! I feel your pain!

I had nearly 150 hours into a mage in Oblivion and like an idiot I deleted it while cleaning out all my unnecessary saved games. =P I couldn't play for weeks I was so pissed.

One save is never enough in any Bethesda game. Never.
I am considering adding to this to my sig thing.

You should get yourself a USB memory card. It plugs right into the front of your 360 machine, and you can store stuff on there you don't want deleted... including saved games.

Ive ended up accidentaly saving over new characters with my main character, so ive decided i'll wait untill im fully satisfied with that character before i create a new one instead of playing two back to back.

Btw on Xbox if i select Cloud Storage instead of HD, can i keep i character on Cloud, and still have my main one on HD, and switch between Cloud and HD so i dont save over anything?

Only a single save for your main character on a game which you may spend hundreds of hours playing is risky, risky, risky.

They say on a long enough timescale the survival rate for everyone drops top zero... this holds true for TES character saves too imo.

The longer you play, the narrower the odds that something will happen to your save... that's cold hard maths my friend.

Make semi-regular backups at points in your game you're happy to rollback to if something goes awry... because you just never know... little brothers, power outtages, alien emps, AI virus taking over all internet connected gaming devices... you just never know.

;)

Best thing you can do now OP is sit your little brother down and play together on a new shared character and teach him to respect, value and take care of saves.

Not happened to me with a beth game, but a friend of my little brothers once overwrote my pokemon red save. Why was this galling? I had all 151 pokemon (alright I might have gamesharked mew, but the rest I bust my balls to get honestly). 151 all gone. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...

you see, thats why you never trust anyone else on skyrim or any other rpg unless they are familiar with the game.

Rule 1 of gaming; Save the game often
Rule 2 of gaming; Save the game in multiple slots
Rule 3 of gaming; Back it up

These are the first things you learn when gaming regardless of type. Far to many people these days do not take any kind of precautions against data loss thinking that somehow the data will be perfectly fine come rain or shine. It has never worked like that. Data storage is finicky and can easily become corrupted or damaged, thats why you should always keep a backup where possible. Xbox even gives you Cloud storage for backup purposes.

This is why my xbox account is password locked and I keep back up saves on a flash drive.

Not for me, i've played fallout 3, new vegas, oblivion and skyrim with one save file per character

i've only ever had 1 save for every character ina ll of those games. the only time i ever have more than one save for a character is when i accedently make a new save.

so i let my brother play skyrim the otherday so he could mess around with the vampire lord form. and like 10 mins ago i get on to see if he screwed any thing up and well he did. i got on and found out that he deleated my Argonian mage/vampire lord that i had beat the vampire side with. and i also had about 70 hours on that character and now its just gone cause my little brother saved over it. so now i have my khajit theif/assassin, and 2 saves for my nord warrior/ werewolf. i am so pissed right now i only got around to doing one side quest and was heading toward my secound one.

any one else have some one deleat or save over a character.

I am very sorry to hear about that...but I do hope your not pissed at Bethesda for that...
