PlansRituals for F4 launch day

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 1:19 am

So you wake up to a beautiful Monday on launch day 9.November. How will you use the day, and how will you prepare for the midnight launch?

I will clean my entire sailboat from bow to stern, interior and deck (Living on a 33 foot sailboat) I like to have a really clean livingspace, even more so when a huge title like fallout 4 comes around, since I will be lost in these games for days before real world chores comes back to mind. I have my boat att a fine marina dock and it has plenty of shore power to run on. After a manic cleaning of the boat, I will drive into town and buy some beer, some red wine and tons of snack foods to boot. Rest of the hours left until release will be spent resting, and when midnight arives i will crack open the first beer. Open steam and start playing! (if we can download the game before its release that is) otherwise I will have to endure a download that will feel like eternity itself. So what is your usual Bethesda launch day rituals, or am I the only one who likes to plan days like this?

I get done work monday at 10:30 pm with an hour drive home. I'll just head right to gamestop to stand in line for the midnight release. I got it for xbox so once I get home I'll pop it in, start installing the game, set an alarm for two hours (or however long it'll take to install, and take a nap. I took off from work on tuesday to play

Well, I'll stock up on snacks and soda. Still deciding on what to get.

There's a good chance I'll be working the graveyard shift on the 9th, so I'll miss the midnight release. I don't care much for digital copies, so I'll head to Gamestop when it first opens to pick up my copy. I lose my vacation time at the end of the year, so I'm taking a week off to play this.

Probably go to Costco to stock up on healthy snacks... Or mini frozen pizzas.

Stay up until 1 am with back stretched every hour so my back doesn't get destroyed further.

Got a few errands to run Monday. It'll be off to the supermarket for a weeks provisions and a copy of X1 version then back home.

I'm not planning a big night.

Install game.

Download day one update.

Character creation.

Get to Sanctuary Hills.

Go to bed.

Get up Tuesday to take delivery of my PS4 PipBoy version.

Say goodbye to human contact for the rest of the week.

Wow, that's so awesome! Life must be such an adventure, and I envy you. I never could mix the graqe and the grain, sounds like you've got it made. Oh, and the whole boat thing is cool as well lol :D

As for playing the game, I will start at 12.01am local time, and will probably stop for a break some time around the middle of 2017...

Get game at midnight, have my snacks and such ready to go. Install the game and take a nap until it's finished, then play and play until work on Tuesday night. Then repeat since I don't have university on Wednesday.

Thank you :) Yes my life is att a very good place these days, and sailing really is something pure and liberating. Also I was suprised how well I could adjust to a much smaler living space after i sold my 2 bedroom's appartment. Still got a monster laptop with me onboard that can run any game of this day and age :) But ain't gonna lie, there is quite allot of maintenance required to live on the water, but for me, worth every drop of sweat!

cool, I too suspect that the rest of my social life will have to get in the backseat for a while come november :D

Gonna stock up on soda, ice and maybe some snack plus a big pizza. Getting the game in the mail afternoon so I'll have some time clean or something. Nothing special. Though I'm considering buying a second SSD to install the game on..

Hopefully the game starts downloading a few days before release day so I can be ready at midnight. I will have my mini fridge in the basemant next to my gaming setup, it will be stocked with Coke, and a nice supply of Cheetos Puffs and plenty of Camel cigarettes.

Once I start. I don't plan to stop until around Midnight or so on the 11th, as I have to be at work on the 12th.

I want a boat!

On the evening of the 9th, I'm going to sacrifice a goat to the gaming god, paint my body in its blood, and dance around a bonfire until midnight. Then, I will be filled with the spirit of gaming and will fall into a deep sleep and will be awakened in time to check the mail for my copy of Fallout 4 from Amazon, after which I will begin to play nonstop for hours! The neighbors are going to love it!

Seriously though, on the 9th I'm just going to enjoy the day, get outside and hopefully it will be sunny.

-Wake up roughly around...oh, hell I'll probably be up at 5am or 6am...Set the download on Steam, get that out of the way, have breakfast, coffee, go about my business.

-Game will probably be done by 10am or so, give or take on how the internet is feeling that day...

-Give the game a go more than likely until it's time to go to work (I work evenings)

-Go to work with Fallout on the mind.

-Come home, and play more Fallout for a bit before bed.

Go to work. Check out some 'Let's Play' vids on YouTube and read some reviews during lunch. Go home. Watch some more vids. Try to decide if I really want to buy it now or just wait.

Work > Gym > Longsword Practice. Then maybe, if I have energy, install FO4, but won't have time to actually play until the weekend.

But the link to this website will be deleted and I won't be on here until I'm at least a few days into the game. Ain't reading no reviews either.

I would do the install first, then go about your day, unless you're getting the disc version, then you're not losing time.

I pre-ordered the disc, so it'll probably be there by the time I get home. =)

Sing and dance. One of the local community theaters was short on Russians for their production of Fiddler on the Roof, so they called me. And the show opens the same week Fallout 4 comes out, so I'll have a dress rehearsal that tuesday night. :T

But I'll have all wednesday morning free to play it. I can tell you all, and this may be a delight to some, but come November 10th I am getting tf off the forums for a looong time.
