You dont know what you are buying and it promotes lazy behaviour from developers.
Here is a link detailing why you should not invest in season passes.

Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it.
LOL. I have all the 3D Fallout games and all the DLCs for them. I bought the season pass and it will save me maybe $15 or so.
I'm a gamer, an old one it's true, and I tend to get the whole damn thing. All of my games I bought because I knew what I was getting, within reason of course, and all TES, including the recent ESO releases.
It's Bethesda eh'. You tell me about the DLC that was not worth getting from these guys.
Those were created by Oblivion not Bethesda. With Bethesda, we are limited to Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Mothership Zeta, and Point Lookout to persuade our choice in buying a Season Pass.
Eh? I always play the hell out of Bethesda games...a season pass from this lot is worth it to me.
I am saying I dont know.
Its like buying a thing you dont know what will be.
It could be an awesome dlc or it could be horse armor.
I bought the season pass because Bethesda has a history of putting out DLC that I enjoy playing.
It's always a gamble, regardless of when you pay for it, unless you let other people do your thinking for you, which is also (shockingly) a gamble.
My money, my free time, my personal preference.
Tell me again how to live my life, please, random guy who writes nonsensical articles to generate ad revenue. I'd be lost without you.
We can't just limit it to that, though. If they're following the TES model, we'll likely get more bang for the buck from a single DLC. I really enjoyed all the DLC for Skyrim and Oblivion, so a season pass purchase is only natural for me.
It was the first DLC. More of a test run than anything. Even then it was only $2 and it does have use. People just like to slam on it because it was so small.
Eh, it was a blatant cash-grab, albeit the only one. I liked most of the DLCs Beth put out. I think Shivering Isles still tops my list.
Anchorage and Broken Steel were average, but the others were excellent. What is your point?
Obsidian is a developer, and Bethesda published New Vegas and all its DLC. So we can thank Bethesda for everything Obsidian has done with the Fallout universe, not the other way round.
I went back to Fallout 3 repeatedly right up to the release of Fallout 4. I fully expect I will revisit Fallout 4 repeatedly over the next several years. I am also big into using mods, and as the years go by, many of the best mods will require the DLC, so regardless if all of it is technically worth the price, I would still want it for compatibility with the mods that will be worth it.
Not that I agree with the OP's concern we should recall the NV DLC was not Beth's baby, and was superior to the FO3 DLC as was NV was to FO3 IMO. I will purchase the DLC/season pass since it will most certainly be required for mods which make any FO/TES game 100 times better.
Obsidian is made up of some of the folks that used to be Black Isle studios, the original developers of Fallout.... So, Bethesda have them to thank for having a killer background (and built in fanbase) for a cool game line. And I am sure Beth will exploit it to the hilt.
Fallout 64!!!! Due for release 11/11/2349.
Yeah. Broken Steel and The Pitt were sorta OK, the rest pretty meh to yuck. So about 2 out of 5 were worth a dime. Definitely poor odds for season pass betting.
