Pony at War vs. Pony Ops

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 6:26 pm

I never thought either game was very good, but I would say WAW had a much better SP (mostly because it didn't have the stupidest WOO AMERICA! ending like Black ops did) I didn't really enjoy either multiplayer, but I do admit that I had much more fun with Black ops zombies on split screen with a friend. I've decide BO was the last COD game I will buy, the series is beyond redeemable now, which is a shame because I enjoyed all of them up until MW2

I'm partial to Black Ops, as I think the 60's: Russia and Vietnam setting was interesting. Far more original than yet another WWII game.

But as everyone else said, you can get the WaW Zombie Maps for Black Ops.

Ascension FTW!

But the WaW maps are different in Black Ops.
Anyway, WaW seems like the last Call of Duty game that cared about what the gamers wanted and less about how much money they could svck from the saps who buy the same tired recipe every year. Battlefield 3 is still better though, and if they added in a Zombie mode (which of course will never happen), it'd be the best thing since pants.
Although sometimes I rather play the fast-paced action of Call of Duty versus the realistic action of Battlefield 3. That's why you gotta have both!

Only in the sense that you can apply the Black Ops weapons to the WaW Maps.

IMO no call of duty has actually been good since world at war. Once blops came out I thought the series might just be taking a turn for the better after call of duty 4-2, but if all they do for the upcoming game is copy black ops on to a new disc then treyarch will become almost the same as IW in my eyes, a developer without the slightest care for its customers. I think the only way CoD can recover from this downward trend is by releasing another WWII-set game and scrapping the modern warfare branch.

I prefer Black Ops for both the zombies and multiplayer.

Oh yeah, that multiplayer would be the best. 15 minute long matches, 14 minutes is spent sitting in a trench, then at the last minute one teams tries to sprint to the other side, but they are all shot down by machine guns... game over.

WWII is a better time period, Call of Duty svcks at making a WWIII atmosphere in my opinion.

Yeah, but then you have Germans vs the svcky Russians (don't even compare to the Red Army of the Soviet Union)

On the western front you would have France, America, the UK vs Germany. I think it would only work if you had it about the time the Americans entered because then you have tanks, and you have some kinds of advancement into Germany since the US came at the very end. And the Russians were gone by the time the US entered so only one big front to focus on. And Activision would probably always use the US in their games. And... and.... and... that is all I got.

I'd love a Russian mission where we go out with a crowbar and fend off freezing Nazis :D

No, WWII.
But I can't think of any way WWI would be good for a Call of Duty game, unless it was about Verdun, or the Archduke assassination.

WWII Russians would be much more exciting. It would be really really awesome if they went from start to finish of the war in Europe, but that would never happen since they just like multiplayer. You start as a British guy who does tries and tries to defend France and fails and eventually dies. Then you go to a Russian defending your land, while switching to an American in Africa until you get all the way to Berlin, with both the Russian and American.

Imagine a mission revolving around Ferdinand's murder... That'd be sweet.

Off topic though.

I just got WaW today, and I must say, it feels and plays better than Black Ops. I also played both games on Xbox and PS3, and while I like the PS3 version a little more, it doesn't really matter when you compare the two games.

You switch the topic too much! :swear: We're talking about WWI, then WWII, now back to WWI.

Better yet, they could take Call of Duty all the way back to the Gallic Wars, helping Caesar expand Rome or fighting for Gaul's culture in epic domination games and intense search and destroy matches.

World at War had better multiplayer, but hackers have made it unplayable now, and me angry. Black Ops zombies is irrefutably better.

Wait, do you actually think war is fought like it is in a Call of Duty game?

I prefer the WW2 setting. It's a shame there probably won't be a western front game for a while.

No, that is how they would make their world war 1 game.
