Pony at War vs. Pony Ops

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 9:46 pm

Before I begin, I must say that YES I'm aware that Call of Duty is going downhill. The only reason I own Black Ops is for the zombies, but now my cousin is telling me that not only is WaW the best Call of Duty game, it also has better zombies. What do you think?

If you have an internet connection you can download all of the zombies map (from W@W and BO) so if you only want W@W for zombies, it would be a waste of money.

btw I also only play it for zombies :foodndrink:

There is less of a selection, and no thunder gun in the original maps of it, and on the black ops version of the waw maps the WWII guns are still on the wall.

Edit: Also the black ops zombie bundle is cheaper by $10 I think.

I don't know, in my opinion the story is better in WaW and the online is a draw. The zombies are more "classic" in WaW and easier I'd say. Also the wall guns are just a fragment of the rest of the weapons. I already own Black Ops so I'll probably just get WaW (it's super cheap now) and see how I like it.

I never cared too much for zombies. Based on the Multiplayer, I'd say that WaW smokes Black Ops in map design and balance, except for the borderline inexcusable MP40. Though Wager Match is something that BO has over WaW. In Single Player, Black Ops wins hands down. Paired with the amazing narrative, the addition of Zork and Dead Ops Arcade is just icing on the cake.

You only get nacht der untoten in the default waw. And havethe to paythe about $25 for thethe other three. And the story is the same in black ops, the remakes of the maps at least, and I think the people have more lines. So if you do ever get the rest of the zombie maps get it on black ops and save $10.

World at War is a great game non zombie-wise as Comrade Dispenser said. The multiplayer is (was?) awesome in it's primetime and the maps are awesome and the atmosphere is generally pretty cool. I only played "Nacht der untoten" because I didn't want to pay for the rest of the maps, so can't say I know too much about it's zombie mode when comparing it to Black Op's. Anyway WaW is a great game nonetheless, one of my favourite Call of Duty games.

Idk Black Ops was okay but I did not like its Multiplayer all that much. I think Activision does a better job with the Multiplayer aspects. Treyarch does something better like the random game modes and the create your own emblem thing. I loved that. So many ways to eff with people. Or just make cool [censored] like the Empires Dragon Symbol(Skyrim Emblem) or South Park characters or Aqua Teen Hunger Force characters. Zombies was fun but was never very fun at all unless you got to the point you had the upgraded guns. Repeating the first 15 stages is effing boring. Especially the first 10 of almost all the maps.

MW2 was my favorite game so far. just was gifted MW3 and have played the multiplayer a bit. Pretty fun so far although I miss being able to absolutely wreck an entire enemy team via careful run and knifing/akimbo models 1887's/Rangers...I even got two nukes running and knifing in MW2. Plus multiple nukes with akimbo rangers. Omg lol.

One thing I noticed about MW3 is that shotguns are effing ridiculously stupid overpowered on hardcoe mode.

I will say I enjoyed Black Ops more than MW2 + 3 for if nothing else, you couldn't do as much stupid [censored] to make me toss the game out of my system and pop something else in.

As for W.A.W, I only got to play it after I had played MW2, so I thought it was rather boring. Maybe if I were to play it again, I'd think differently now.

I have been noticing MW3 is kind of [censored] in terms of the dumb things people can do to kill you. Not that that stops me though lol. Then again if it is a bad game later on(pretty fun right now) no sweat off my back. I had the game AND Call of Duty Elite bought for me. Who ever said being good at video games doesn't have its benefits? I did have to join some stupid clan though.

I think Activision does a better job with the Multiplayer aspects.

If anything, Activision is responsible for ruining the COD games, much like it did to Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero. The company forces Infinity Ward and Treyarch to create and polish their games within 2 years, to ensure that a COD game is released a year. As one might imagine, corners are cut and the game is left in a broken state in regards to multiplayer.

Lol I meant Infinity Ward. Why the hell did I put Activision in there? Ewwwww...major brain fart...well sledgehammer is in on MW3 now iirc too along with Infinity Ward.

I would not say the games are ruined or the multiplayer broken exactly. (I dunno about Tony Hawk or Guitar Hero as I was never really into either one) They are still quite fun if nearly the same. Small differences make the multiplayer feel much different and if they have a successful formula why would they deviate from that by very much. People are obviously willing to pay $60+ for a new set of maps and slightly tweaked gameplay. I cannot really blame a company that is about making money and entertainment for doing both at the same time. They do entertain quite a large majority of people even if those are "casuals". I was not going to buy MW3 but since I got it purchased for me I can honestly say it is imo better than Black Ops. Now if they removed the mute option from the multiplayer in this series I would stop playing altogether though.

The multiplayer does not seem absurdly imbalanced either. If you have skill you can kill people with just about any weapon. Which is how it should be. I think the game should be fun. Idc if knifing the entire other team is unrealistic, it takes quite a but of skill and tactics to be able to do so. Let people being pissed about the "knifer" be my reward. Not like those kinds of playstyles are difficult to counter, claymores and UAVs kind of eff up that whole experience. Naturally some people can abuse certain weapons but if you know what you are doing you can do that with almost any weapon and counter them just the same. Just the other day I went 23-6 with that first magnum you get and nothing else on hardcoe mode. If I can do that with a magnum when everyone else is running shotguns, SMGs, LMGs, and Assault rifles it really does not seem that unbalanced in favor of one type of weapon or another. Surely using primary weapons is an advantage as it should be but it is not ridiculous in terms of advantage with one weapon over another. The perks do not seem that bad either. Stalker is a nice new one imo. You no longer can infinitely sprint which I do not like but seems more balanced I guess.

What do you feel is unbalanced/broken about it?

Well that is your opinion. Here is mine, I did not really like the BF multiplayer. Unless i have a solid group of friends to play it with it is really not that fun. CoD lets you lone wolf it pretty easily.

The zombies in World at War were made availible on Black Ops (Resurrection Map Pack)
WaW has a greater selection of maps and semi-auto weapons, and tanks - besides that Black Ops surpasses it...

I'd say Der Riese is THE best zombie map ever made so far in account of all the map packs for BO out. So the question is: which Der Riese is THE best one?

The last one that was any good for me was MW2. Now I only play Call of Duty games for Zombies, so if CoD 9 has it, I'm buying.
What I don't understand is why Activision doesn't just release a Zombies-only game on the Marketplace / PS Store...
WaW's multiplayer looks different than any other Call of Duty though, so I might play it for more than Zombies if I get it.
