Pop Music

I can't really name any names though, since I pretty much just hear them on the radio and DJs these days never do their job of telling you what song you just heard.

Ugh, that drives me bloody mental, if I like the song. Then it becomes a matter of actually remembering lyrics from it when you get home so that you can try find it.

I like Lady Gaga, she has some very catchy songs. I'm no good with genres, so I don't really know what is classified as pop. I saw Adele mentioned here though, and I like Rolling in the Deep, but I found everything else off 21 a bit too dull.
Someone else mentioned LMFAO. I love Party Rock Anthem and sixy and I know It, but I absolutely hate everything else they ever released, which was so disappointing.
Yeah I really have no idea what counts as pop.

I do like Lady Gaga - it's good running music.

Oh? *adds Gaga to her Running playlist*

I'm not a fan of every single pop artist jumping on board the David Guetta euro dance thing right now. Chris Brown is terrible at that, so is Flo Rida. I like some pop music, I'll listen to it in the car, but most is awful.

I do really like Lana del Rey though. She's got a lovely face and her music is so sombre and downbeat, it's brilliant!

There's a place for pop music. And the term is very general anyway - most of what I listen to would probably be defined as pop music by some, and as crazy noise by others, it really depends on where you stand. I love this electronic/noise duo whose name I'm not allowed to write here ('six Buttons') who I've heard described as 'sell-out pop-noise' by people who really should know better.

I do listen to a lot of Britney's newer songs (Toxic, Circus, that kind of sound) which are definitely pop music. Part of what draws me to Britney is that a lot of people who otherwise have musical tastes I agree with seem to have this irrational hate for her music - even though the tunes and production are pretty sweet.

I don't like Lady Gaga as much as I used to.

I don't like Lady Gaga as much as you used to either.

I like precious little Pop music and it's always been that way, unless you mean the Beatles. Yeah, I liked the Beatles.
However I do respect good songs and song writing and great singers. Whitney Houston sang a lot of good songs and boy could she deliver.
Bette Midler has been known to belt out a few herself. But as a genre, Pop is not something I inherently gravitate to.

I don't particularly dislike pop music, although there is some out there that makes me cringe. I've actually found myself enjoying some of Lady Gaga's songs on occasion, but most pop is too bland for my tastes.

I read comments about people hating pop music and I would like them to listen to this:

Anyone here listen to K Pop?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7mPqycQ0tQ

To be honest, I think K-Pop kind of exemplifies the problem I have with the genre - there are a thousand extremely well-produced pop acts there that all sound pretty much the same. That said, the song I linked is just so damn infectious that I can't help but like it.

And I guess http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_bJ59u3C1E totally counts, right? I mean it's pop to Japanese people.

I really liked that Alizee song you linked. I guess I like international pop more than the American stuff?
