I'm running it on a single 5970 and copying the Crysis 2.exe from the disc cured my problems.
Thanks for the tip Phoil!

Well, almost cured it..still get some flickering from the watersurface, but only at certain angles.

I got the steam version, can't rename the executable.

I was getting same problem with my 4870x2 card, with crossfire enabled and latest ATI drivers. I ran multiple test without any good result until I downloaded "Radeon Pro" at http://www.radeonpro.info

I made a new profile with my crisis 2 game, I've check in advanced Catalyst AI and set it to "normal". After it's done, go into Tweaks tab and force que CrossFireX Profile to Bioshock. Apply your settings by right clicking though your Crysis 2 profile. You can set some other tweaks by auto-disabling Aero and always forcing v-sync off, it help a lot on FPS aswell.

Launch the game by right clicking on your profile. Enjoy your CrossFire enabled and fully functionnal. :)

I was running at 44 average fps with miminum "high" setting and now i'm able to play on extreme settings at average 75fps.

Okay so I'm a super-newb at these things, I did install the application and added Crysis 2.exe as a new profile, and also forced the Crossfire thingy to Bioshock....

... But I can't find the option for the AI in the advanced-tab! Hell, I can't even find it anywhere! Where is it supposed to be?

Thanks. :)

I fixed this by setting crysis 2 to run in windowed mode then alt-entering to max screen once I loaded my save game, no more flickering.

More seriously, how the F@/* does something as major as this get through QA, if only companies took the release it when it is done approach.

Edit: Well close but no cigar, according to Afterburner that seems to disable GPU2 from being used which is probably why it works.

I got the Flickering to go away with the radpro with bioshock override but GPU 1 on my 4870X2 is still running really hot (95c) compared to GPU 2 (36c)

On top of that now I am getting glitches in the game, with random polygons flashing around in the screen. I preferred the flickering to this.....

The windowed mode to full screen trick seems to work for me.

Gents

Copy original Crysis2.exe into bin32 folder and launch........

This fixes the Flicker issue (for me atleast) obviously no multiplayer :-(

Turned off CrossFire using RadeonPro. Just go to Tweaks and move the MVPUMode slider one spot to the right.

Didn't need to touch anything else and the game runs perfectly smooth and without any flicker on my 5970.

I have done a few benchmarks with different names of the exe.

blue: Crysis2.exe
green: Bioshock.exe
red: Rift.exe

I will make a few comparison screenshots to see if there are any differences in image quality.

My System:
Windows 7
Intel Core i7 940 @2.96 GHz
6GB Ram
Asus Radeon 6990

I think this says it all! The console players don't have to go through this kind of trauma to get a game to play. No wonder so many are converting.

I tried these steps and was still getting some flickering (though it was noticeably different)

One thing I did try was set the crossfire mode from "Driver Default" to "Supertile" and it removed the flickering, but it refused to go above 30 fps

@fatmike64: Consoles are not using CrossFire or SLi. And there is only one system configuration. And still, there are bugs in games for consoles! There are plenty of games that console players had problems with.

Have to say that the "Alt + Enter" x2 solution works great!

Instructions:

1. Get in-game, load a save, and see that the flickering is there.
2. Press "Alt + Enter" on your keyboard. (It should now go into windowed mode)
3. Press "Alt + Enter" again, you should now be back in fullscreen mode, but the flickering should be gone.

This is tested on an AMD 5970

no no no nothing works all the time for crossfire ...
some of you maybe have luck
i tried them all .. bioshock profile , exe rename , diferent drivers and profiles .... SOMETIMES it works (with very LITTLE scaling) and then i restart the game and it flickers again

luckily i can run it with only one 6970 full detail (shading on 1 , rest on 3)

but it's still unacceptable
i have 300€ sitting and doing nothing

The RadeonPro fix makes the game playable for me on my Crossfire 6970 setup. Only occasional artifacts on the screen now. http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=14788&p=181421&hilit=radeonpro+fix#p181421

I agree, considering how much $$ spent on the setup, and the game, this is un-acceptable.

But even with all of these issues, I still would go PC gaming over a console any day. The controllers on consoles are just too cumbersome and inaccurate. And I mean that about all conosle variants.

Playing on an Alienware M17x with i7 1.7 Quad and HD5870 xfire. Tried Radeon pro and had no joy. Tried renaming the .exe to WOW.exe and running 50+ fps on extreme. Worked a treat thankyou. However , what a F***ing workup.

This is really starting to **** piss me off!

Just changing Radeon Pro profile to Bioshock didnt fix my issue.

Go Advanced (when crysis 2 profile selected on left)

Advanced-Mark the Catalyst A.I. box and set Catalyst to Disabled ( Bring it to left)

Its fixed my issue. I can play game perfectly with no lag or flicker. But it is simply disabling one Graphic Processor

And let you play with one. I can play 1920x1080 with Extreme High Resolution with 50 fps. But im playing

multiplayer with High Resolution and get better FPS and better game playing. After all im waiting for Multi GPU

support so i can use my all GPU and get best gameplaying but still its really good.

For those you guys can't record RANK.

Try to disconnect server when you level up and just wait in menu like 10 seconds. It fixes for me

i know it's annoying but it is only option for now. I hope CryTek fix this fast. And i'm hopeful about it

i think they just maked best FPS game around here and this is not a big problem :)

Thanx for reading, comment if you like it.
See you in Multiplayer games.
