aha...i dont, maybe the stuffing inside gets heavier from radiation, i dont know!

y'know, that may just be something, the stuffing inside these bears could asborb Raidiation, its absurd...just like Fallout! we must be able to throw teddies inside irradiated areas to get rid of Radiation!

this is an awesome idea putting c4's in teddy bears LOL

The Assorted Flotsam and Jetsam makes for a better atmosphere. There should be more generic neat stuff.

i liked all the useless stuff in fallout 3, it adds to the post apocalyptic effect( I know about a million people have already said this), it kind of makes the game more realistic considering people would leave a lot of stuff behind when they went to their vault, personal fallout shelter(if you think no one would have one just think of Bill Gates, and i know he would not be alive in 2077, but if he was alive in a world and time like fallout 3's, given the situation with china, he would probably have one), and they would also leave stuff behind if they went nowhere at all.

There's few truly useless stuffs in FO3. What may not be worth the trouble to bring along for selling to a vendor/merchant (that's just about anything below the valule of 10 caps IMO), eaten/drunk or sold/exchanged to a special collector/questgiver, or even crafted into something can still be used as rock-it ammo.

That said, I rather like the "useless" stuff. As has been said, they added quite a lot to the atmosphere and I look forward to seeing these old friends - along with some new ones, perhaps? - in New Vegas :D :)

I would love to see some of them becoming useful. IE, if you have a fork in your inventory, you can stab an NPC in the eye with it. Comedic effect, really. Nobody with a sense of humor could avoid at laughing while watching an NPC wildly flail around a bar with a fork jammed in their eye.

Maybe even be able to do the magical disappearing pencil trick The Joker used in the latest batman movie?

They might have left these weapons out because they don't want to upset Valve. Valve has both as weapons, the Bonesaw being a weapon for the Medic in TF2 and the Frying Pan a weapon in L4D2. Now I don't think Valve is terribly sue-happy, but in this day and age you just can't risk it if you're in the IP business.

Honestly I would have loved a frying pan as a melee weapon. They make the most satisfying 'clang' when they hit something.

They could sue for that?

Really?

Jeez....

Pre-war moneys are excellent to use as pocket change. It's a money after all
I don't know how to use them besides to be sold.
I think there are more junk items in TESIV Oblivion than in Fallout. :tops:

I agree, like CCNA said, the random nick knacks make for great atmosphere. Honestly, I would like a wider variety. Also, Why were there some things we could move, but not "pick up"? I can see why we couldn't pick up bigger things like barrels, but .. roller skates? fans? globes? (I think I managed to actually get a globe once, but I can't remember where!). I hear there is also a rare chance that you can get a brahmin skull off some junk vendors, I just wonder why some items like that aren't actually "swipeable"

I would (in my earlier play throughs) decorate my house extensively with junk (I always use the pre-war theme). Junk is needed.

I agree that ''useless items'' do kind of help to fill in the wastes.. but it would be nice if they weren't so darn useless! :P Also, why not make it so that a suitcase could be filled with items, up to a certain weight limit (say, 50 pounds), and then your character would actually pick it up and walk (and run, although top running speed would be reduced) around with it, but you would not be able to use any two-handed weapons while holding it (in other words, pistols and SMGs only, with low accuracy [as in no aiming down the sights]). If you wanted to use two handed weapons again you could either drop the suitcase, leaving the items inside it there, or you could put it into your inventory, and the suitcase itself would weigh, say, 5 pounds. Also, there would be other versions of suitcases that would allow you to hold more wight in them, and effect your top run speed as well. While some moderately priced suitcases might allow you to hold, say, 100 pounds of stuff, your top run speed might be severely reduced, and only top dollar suitcases would allow you to hold large amounts of items while also allowing you to run at a good pace.

Personally, I'd love this to be implemented. Imagine getting a reinforced suitcase, allowing you to hold 100 pounds. You, wearing a suit and hat, walk into a town that is hostile to the NCR, and go into the center of the town. You open the suitcase... and pull out [and equip] a set of NCR Desert Armor, then pull out a Military Assault Rifle (or whatever they call the M16 now) and start hosing down the townspeople.

Or, better yet, you manage to have a suitcase stuffed with goodies sneaked into one of the casinos, in, say, one of the bathroom stalls. You play a bit win a tiny bit, lose more, then go into the bathroom.. walking out in Combat Armor with a SMG in one hand and a grenade in the other!

Imagine the fun you could have with this!

So.. what d'ya guys think?

Just because its worth too many caps does not mean it can't be burned. to tell you the truth i didn't know why it was so useful in the first place...then i had to go to the bathroom....and i knew....to quote Beavis "TP for my Bunghole!"

When i found the woodchipper, i wanted to put a raiders hand into it...

you should not be able to beat someone to death with a teddy bear, maybe shove it down his throat...

OMFG GREAT IDEA!!!!
get a woodchiper and a hoe or a rake and a motor cylce tank the power the wood chipper then you just have to find a schematic!! and you got a [censored] nasty weapon

I would have liked to have been able to sell body parts to the doctor in Underworld. Remember how he said he needed human tissue? Body parts would have been perfect for that. As for the stuff that you couldn't even pick up, they were disappointing. Having a brahmin (or maybe even human) skull mounted on your wall would have been great.

Most of these "Extas" Will probably be used to caft wepons, poisions, food, etc. There is a new cafting system. Also scopes, silences, exta ammo, and somthing else are for wepon mods (Not mods like G.E.C.K) That you can put on your wepon to improve them. A cool new thing they did with 3rd person is make it easier to fight in 3rd person. It is zoomed over the shoulder like Gears of War now (Btw hate that game just using it as a refrence). They added iron sights too! there is more they added very numerous. Mainly things fallout 3 threw out from the first few fallout's. But with all the new features the game will keep you playing for months.
