Whats the Bickering About?!
Do your math. Blizzard makes $2,000,000,000 USD a year off of World of Warcraft alone.

But MW2 makes the most money? Press would like to lie to you on that one. MW2 is a midget compared to the WoW giant.
And thats not even taking into account their latest release SC2, and how it also sold a boatload of copies, despite it being a PC exclusive. By the foolish reasoning floating around here, no one should have bought it, yet every time someone logs in there are hundreds of thousands of players online.

is this the console vs pc topic? wtf

If i could buy a top pc i would.....

Im not here to claim that consoles are better.....there not...

Every copy thats made on pc is a loss in $...so any smart dev. will choose a platform that genarate the most $ so that they can keep making games in the future...simpel
But MW2 did make more then WoW's launch. MW2 set a record on most sucessful launch for games ever. In the long run WoW and even most Nexon Free to Play MMO's will make more profit then MW2 as a whole but cant we all agree thats a achievement on its own.

To add: Cant wait to see something, if anything, of Crysis 2 at TGS. I know that Publishing Buddy Dead Space 2 still has a unnanouced MP that may be announced there. Hopefully it is.

ok....
Piracy hit new highs with the release of the PC shooter Crysis, Frankfurt, Germany-based developer Crytek has told Next-Gen.biz.

November's Crysis sold 1 million copies worldwide as of February this year, but Crytek is nevertheless struck by how many illegitimate copies are circulating.

Crytek engine business manager Harald Seeley said that he could not reveal specific internal figures pertaining to piracy of Crysis, but he added, "I can say the level of piracy was the highest of any I've experienced on a project."

This week, Crytek president Cevat Yerli said that piracy was so bad on the PC-exclusive Crysis, that the studio would no longer be making PC-exclusive titles.

"I believe that's the core problem of PC Gaming, piracy... PC gamers that pirate games inherently destroy the platform. Similar games on consoles sell factors of 4-5 more," he said in an interview with PC Play. "It was a big lesson for us and I believe we won't have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future. We are going to support PC, but not exclusive anymore."

Crysis was made for PC and should've stayed that way.

keep defending...go ahead start talking about some lame game like WoW.
if crysis was sold 4 to 5 times more it would have crushed the WoW numbers. And crytec would have made a complete game in 2 years.

As long as this mindset is floating arround in the pc world its only better for console users :)

People are just giving examples on how there is a market for PC games, and I don't see the harm in pointing to one of the larger successes, regardless of whether or not you like the game

Doubtful, but also conjecture. A moot point

What mindset? that piracy exists only on PC?
It's not like there aren't pirates on the 360 and PS3.
one of the big problems with inspecting the impact of piracy (which is of course an issue, on all systems) is people need to consider that: pirated copy =/= lost sale, though that is most certainly not always the case. Crytek is of course welcome to respond to that however they like.
Granted, PC piracy is probably greater than others, if only due to the content being so readily available (as opposed to a console, which would require more effort). However, They could stop PC development for games starting today and I believe it stands to reason all that would result would be a surge in piracy on other systems.
While Crytek may have decided to not stay PC excusive due to piracy, if it wasn't worth the money they wouldn't even bother. Furthermore, even if they didn't have piracy concerns I would see them making this decision anyway as they would want to make themselves available to a larger part of the market.

All this being said, I don't know why you feel like you have a bone to pick with PC users, We're certainly not all pirates and it isn't appreciated that you act like we are, I believe the word I'm looking for is 'bigot.' Everyone is getting a chance to play it on their preferred system so lucky us, who could complain about a bigger community in this instance! :)

The decision to go with 6 vs. 6 was made a long time ago, it was a product of multiple meetings, development ideas and strategies on a game design level. These people have years and years of Games Industry experience behind them, this qualifies them to uniquely decide game balance issues and what is best for our community. Once you play Crysis 2 MP, you will see that it isn't a matter of the quantity of players, more so the quality. The action is fast paced, frantic and furious. You will never be short of a target to lay a whole clip into. If that's your idea of sharp shooting :)

To those that feel let down by our decision to make Crysis 2 multi-platform, all I can say is that at no point will we 'water down' the quality that you would expect from Crytek or the games we make. As a primarily PC gamer I can honestly understand that you feel as if we would be releasing 'console ports', yet this simply isn't the case. If anything, the PC community will get the very best version simply by enabling users to customize their graphical experience. Both the Xbox360 and PS3 will run at 720p, whereas the PC version should support much larger resolutions. The game-play and visual quality of Crysis 2 will blow everyone away, this same quality will be continued throughout all versions on all platforms.
I'm worried about there being no usable vehicles. That's a deal breaker for me, and I won't be buying Crysis 2 unless I can use the same vehicles in it's multiplayer as there are in Crysis Wars. Tanks, VTOL's, Choppers, and Jeeps are a must for me, without those this game is a no go. Also need to be able to edit the PC version to house 32 players, and need some huge maps as seen in Crysis Wars, if these are also not present this game is a no go.
I totally agree mate, the ability of great graphics, 32 player combat AND vehicles all in one multiplayer match was what made crysis wars the best FPS mutliplayer i know. sure crysis 2 looks very pritty but looks like its turning into the console super powered identical armoured space marines combat that are flooding the console market. From the pictures i couldnt even tell that these guys where wearing nano-suits, they look like the human soldiers from halo f**king 3. Where are the vehicles, where are the nano suits and wtf is with the number of players. And most importantly , WHERE THE F*CK IS MESA!!!

I can understand no air vehicles in this game, i mean vtols where the most over powered noob machine in all of cysis wars, being able to fly across mesa in 3 seconds and sit back and kill anyone who looks at you funny but no tanks and jeeps is ridiculous. its bloody new york, its got SOOOO many streets, TANKS AND JEEPS PLZZZ CRYTEK!!!! and of course big maps to play them on. central park perhaps for a large open vehicle map, preferably 32 players (probebly on PC only since the xbox svckS and has the computer power of my 8 year old pacard f**king bell) Think about it Crytek! :D

New york city does have tons of streets. Between them, tons of buildings. To have enough street room for a vehicle map, there would be enough stores, bars, parking garages, and offices to have 100+ players on the map, and the second a tank so much as twitched, a half dozen rockets would hit it from the rooftops. Welcome to urban warfare.
