nice rant XD but i dont agree piracy is not the cause of pc gaming dieing its cost who wants to pay £400 + for a top of the range graphics card when they can buy a console for sub £300 and play the same games :) not to mention all the other bits you need a good pc costs maybe £1200 not many parents out there gonna pay that for little jonny to play games on. piracy is just piracy it will always be around even on the consoles. people still buy games all the same and always will do me included.

OH and im a dedicated pc gamer not a console phreak just so ya know :)

just a pitty about the dx9 thing :( omg crytek used to be the cutting edge leaders in pc graphics SHAME on you!!!!

The piracy issue would be almost non-existent if they just dropped EA Games as publisher and their stupid DRM ****.
Look at Valve and how they handle this, no **** DRM and piracy is almost not even an issue in their camp.

If you buy a Valve-made game on steam, or activate a Retail copy of it... you can play it right away...
no 3rd party sign-up anywhere... no extra login-****... no stupid DRM to ruin your day... you actually feel like you OWN the game.
You can even re-download it as many times as you want, and not have to think about there being an activation limit.

Crytek should open their eyes to this, and implement steamworks into Crysis 2 (and other games they have on Steam).
Imagine being able to just start up Crysis 2, and not having to sign in to gamesas or anything...
not having to type in your serial number... and just play the game... wouldn't it be wonderful?.

They could let us activate the Retail, and EADM version on Steam by entering the Serial keys there, it would solve a lot of problems.

Now this is just a dream of course, it will probably never happen.

Get a life. There are tons of good games on PC, and even more on the Xbox 360 and PS3. You senselessly waste your money on super-expensive hardware, and then complain when companies aren't as obsessive and deranged as you. Don't like "PC gaming"? Get a console. Got an inferiority complex? Stop playing video games. These are all just games. Stop treating them like they're your life, and like most of the world finds them very important.

What the hell is "PC gaming", anyway? You have a waste-of-money-PC; companies release games that happen to run on Windows. What is there to die, and why do you find it so important? Thousands have died in Japan recently, thousands of people died today of starvation, disease, and violence (Lybia ring a bell?). Maybe you should throw some of your money to save those dying people instead of for something stupid like "PC gaming". Do you think any of them care that some video game does not run on DirectX 11 when their child is crying from hunger?

Just saying that you need to stop obsessing over something so insignificant.

For me, this crusade for DirectX 11 means complete stupidity. In fact, I'm sure people don't even understand what the differences between the three revisions (9, 10, 11) are.
And calling Crysis 2 a dumbed down game means insane ignorance. Actually it's one of the best looking games and it runs beautifully. Do you think you need DirectX 11 for better graphics? If your answer is yes, that underline how ignorant and stupid you are.
The fact such a beauty doesn't require 20 cards working in paralled underlines how stupid people are in general.

Personally, I don't want a game to play in three years. I buy a game today to play today, not for using it as a benchmark for future hardware.
The PC gaming is dead? No, PC gamers are dead: all they care is buying expensive hardware for benchmarking purposes but, in reality, they play no games. I'm more than happy to see my GTX 580 pushing 60 fps on this game. More than happy to see it's a leap forward in graphics. More than happy to see all of this doesn't require me to spend 6000$ in hardware equipment for playing a sub average game. More than happy this game is not food for idiots but a game born to be played. For benchmarks, use 3D Mark. Dumb asses. Benchmarks to benchmarkers, games to gamers.

So true jordan. The whole 'console gets pirated more' argument is just idiotic anyway. Sure, console games may get uploaded first, is that any wonder? More people buy console games, so there's a higher probability of them uploading games to torrents than PC gamers. Secondly, because the console market is so much larger than PC gaming, the piracy figures are far less of a significant blow to the success of games for consoles (albeit, they're still a huge problem).

On the other hand, PC gaming is now an incredibely small market in comparison to console gaming, yet they both still have very similar amounts of piracy across all platforms. What does that tell you? More PC gamers pirate their games than console players do, and surely that's common sense to most people. People complaining like little babies about DX9 saying the graphics look terrible when they clearly do not, it's just pathetic, I wonder what lives you guys have to live to cry about things like this on a forum. They **** up the Multiplayer registration and I can understand that this amongst some other small bugs has caused frustration, but it's really pathetic that people get so mad about it. PC gamers aren't the holy grail because they waste money on hardware just so they can show off, and they're not entitled to anything more than console gamers. This comes from a guy who only plays his games on PC because of the mouse/keyboard simplicity, and someone who has a i7 950, GTX 580, and 6GB Ram for the purpose of gaming/video editing/art/music production. I get 75fps constant on this game with the extreme setting at 1440x900, it's one of the best optimized games I've ever played.

Btw. Read PC Gamer's 89 score review of Crysis 2

http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/03/22/crysis-2-review-2/

Does that match up to what everyone else is saying on the forums? They literally didn't mention anything about Crysis 2 being DX9.

The tons of pissed off readers / comments did though.

Look what this overpaid critic said:

Tripodal tanks, Ceph Pingers are even more fun to fight than Half-Life 2's Striders.

Oh how I LOL'd... I have to say it, but Crysis 2 is far from being better than Half-Life 2, and Striders are much more interesting to fight (especially using the gravity gun against em)... They have better AI, too. Crysis 2 is a solid B+ at best, Half-Life 2 is a 100% A+.

The game run beautifully? Ya cause they cheated it, used low resolution polygons, and a narrow field of view (a little trick engineers use to up the frame rates, less field of view-less graphics on the screen, less graphics on the screen more frames per second you get) so don't give me that ****.

Ok the game looks fine but if you search on the net there is a video where the pc dx11 graphics are amaizing when i so them i started upgraiding my sistem to get atleast 40 fps at max settings so i wait and the game on release date it doesn't have dx 11 thats a problem not because the game looks good even with dx 9 but because they sad that it will have dx 11 and cry engine will dx 11 .
From my point of vew the console gamers(don't want to spend a lot of money to play or they are just casual gamers)(i have a ps3 and xbox and pc and work hard to get because i live in romania where my moth salary is about 400 Euros for 12/24 work every day)So thats the reason whay i am dissapointed with the curent Crysis 2 meaby after dx 11 wil be released and the bugs are fixed i will like very mach this game (and i am not mad at the bugs because all games has problems at the launch but if there was a beta mp not demo the mp wil not have problems it will have problems just with the ballancing weapons and others).
And 1 other thing, pc has piracy and has more then consoles but you can't tell my how some other users tell "pc is dead because piracy and consoles does not have piracy" there is a lot of console piracy out there and it's getting biger evey day amd the pc has more piracy because there are a lot more computers then consoles.

pc gaming is not dead.. not while companies like Dice, blizzard, CDprojekts and Creative Assembly are around.. we'll be getting duke nukem soon and every duke nukem fan will definitely consider buying it.. the witcher 2 is coming which looks really amazing. shogun 2 total war is out, getting a dx11 patch in 2-3 weeks.

deus ex Human revolution, Dead island, rage, badman arkham city :p, skyrim, the witcher 2, Duke nukem forever, star wars : the old republic, guild wars 2, and battlefield 3 are coming this year..
its a pretty good year for us pc gamers.

when crysis came out, no one forced you to play it at the highest setting.. in fact you are ignorant and dumb for saying i dont want a game to be able to play in 3 years..
crysis looked good for its time even on medium, and im sure my pc couldve easily handled those settings at the time.. the only reason why we want dx11 is because some of the people here have high end rig and want to make use of it. crysis' graphics were something like portal's gameplay.. after all these years everybody is still talking about it.

and also i cannot see how its less stupid to "complain" about us, because we "complain" cuz there is no dx11...

I guarantee that BF3 will have problems on launch, like all other DICE games (including the Battlefield series, especially BF2142).

It might not be dead, sure we all know now that crytek has sold out to consoles but games like BF3 pushing graphical boundaries show there is still hope. Truth is, I'll quit gaming altogether before I ever switch to the consoles, after experiencing the beauty of the keyboard and mouse and advanced upgradable PC hardware there is no switching over now.

Easy there, Crysis Wars is as good as dead in North America, dead in South America, dead in Australia and dead in Asia. It's just barely clinging on to life in Europe. Also I hate the unlimited speed in Ferret's Place and I don't think any skilled player is ever happy to be there, just noobs.
