I wish Crytek would tell us what they plan to address in the upcoming patch...

I wonder if this glitch is at all somehow related to the melee glitch?

I just looked at the fixes post in another thred on this forum and noticed that the list of known issues does not include this problem!! What is up? Is there anyone that is NOT HAVING this problem? Why hasen't it got on the list to be fixed? Other than some of the multiplayer issues this seems to be the BIGGEST problem with the game.

However, I must say that I am pretty pleased with a new release like this. I have SLI GTX580's and the game runs great at 1080p on a 37 inch LCD. I have over 45 hours in the game running through the 2nd time and taking my time to enjoy the game and have had only 2 crashes. Great graphics even though its not DX 11 as I thought was promised. Much more fun to play than even BC2 and much, much more enjoyable than Black Ops and some others I recently played.

But support is King, if "you can't support it don't sell it". This lack of response by EA/Crytek will definately infuence my decision to purchase another of their games. I can't believe they haven't responded to this thread, at least to say we hear you and will get it fixed. SAD they make a great game but kill it with poor support.

Yeah, I'm surprised it's not on the list either. This is DEFINATELY the biggest issue so far.

This happens to me too, but you get so much near the end of the game I still managed to get everything my first play-through. Yea, it's really annoying, and should be fixed, but at least it doesn't break the game. The multi gpu support on the other hand....

Having the same issues, showing up as 0 every time I quit and resume. Considering crysis 1, a working game that should be graphically excellent for pc users should have been a given. From what I hear multi-player is just as broken as single player. We get a product that fails in all regards as a sequel. And somehow this game managed to get good reviews. srsly? I won't be buying crysis 3, you guys can eat ****. Probably bribed the game reviewers so people would actually buy this crap. Sixty bucks is good enough for Bioware, should be good enough for crytek. Plenty of crappy pc games out there at crappy pc game prices. Fix it or gtfo.

Look really this is a good game. I am totally impressed with the graphics and game play. Its just that we don't get any response to our problems, and yes I have to wonder how a game gets released with a bug like this Nano Catalyst issue. Testers just couldn't miss somethig like this. "If you can't communicate don't be in the business"!!

As far a multiple GPU's I have 2 EVGA GTX580's in SLI works great very smooth movement and in 54 hours of game play it only crashed twice.

My second time through I took a lot of time to enjoy and it didn't crash once nor were there any other noticable bugs except this Nano one. Thats really GOOD from my past experience. How about Fallout New Vegas. Crash - crash- crash etc and more bugs than this and I played it on XBox.

EVGA is the service/support model that EA/Crytec and most other mfgrs should try to provide. COME ON COMMUNICATE EA/Crytek. Look what not owning up to a problem and not communicating has done to Toyota

This sums up my feelings exactly. I totally like the gameplay, and heck the graphics aren't bad either. Though the nano-catalyst bug still astounds me. I would love to see what goes on in some game studios...

Just had an idea: how many of you guys experiencing the nano-catalyst bug are able to log in in game? I can't at all. Perhaps it's related...?

i have noticed the same thing but with a slight difference. occasionally it will show 0 catalyst even when i collect more, but i have noticed that if i reach a checkpoint all of the missing catalyst appears. its odd and frustrating at times, but everything has always shown back up for me

The same thing happens with me: after every restart of the game nano catalyst points begin to reduce slightly, then it became equal to zero. But really amount of nano catalyst is negative number! So it looks like you can't earn nano catalyst anymore, but you still need to earn points from aliens' corpses until catalyst became positive as usual. Restart of the game, and it equals to zero again.

So in the middle of the game I use game trainer to add nano catalyst points. It's some kind of cheating.

Updated our announcement topics just to make everyone aware that this is a known issue that is being looked into. I don't have any kind of work around to give you at this time but as soon as there is news we'll keep you updated.

Thanks for at least acknowledging that you know about the problem and are addressing it. I am ready to start playing my 3rd time through at the next level of difficulty but would sure like to have this bug fixed first.

What I did last time was play just until I got enought Nano to buy the upgrade I wanted, go to the next check point then quit for a break. That way I would only lose minor amounts of Nano when I started the game up again.

I too am having disappearing Nano Catalysts. It is just not when starting from a saved game but when I move from one zone to another. I just got 2000 Nano Catalyst and moved on and had none! I have stopped playing until this is fixed.

SPOILER (a fix to the problem):

Had this bug many times. Catalyst counter Seems to go to negative (even though it shows zero). Just load up "walk in the park" (assuming you got that far) before you fight the 3-4 cloaked ceph, you get 20000 catalyst. You should around 15000 or so if you got negative. Buy whatever you can, reload the save, rinse and repeat until you get all 12 upgrades (note, might have to go through a checkpoint after you buy the upgrades before you reload the game). Upgrades stay permanent once they've been purchased once.

Seems plausible, haven't tried it yet, but still researching.

PC version. On the steam version it seems to reset your nano catalyst to a negative number on the map "Semper Fi or Die" cos I finished "dark Heart" with 7850 nano catalyst, on "semper fi or die" this number was 0 all the way through the map no matter how many squids died (although I also hit some weird bug where Chino had gone to the check point (at the top of the slope in the valley beyond the huge hole, where chino goes around the right side and the player goes around the left side) where Hargraves voice over happens without having to do the mini boss fight just before that point in the valley), then on "Corporate Collapse" the number of nano catalyst at the end of that map was 1200, but when I got to outside the library on the map "Train to catch" the number was then 850 nano catalyst.

although a number ending in 50 seems impossible to get, bugs drop 20, normal soldiers 100, next rank of soldier 300, mini tank soldier 500, pinger tank 2000, cloaked squid 5000. Although killing the cloaked squid in the entrance to the secret tunnel under the church in "gate keepers" doesn't give any nano catalyst.

I tested it a few days ago,

start game and 540 nano c
exit game
start game and 340 nano c
exit game
start game and 140 nano c
exit game
start game and 0 nano c

And I don't think it's everytime only 200 maybe it's more when you have more because I had over 20000 and everything is gone.
