Theres no such thing as nerfing the melee in a First person SHOOTER, afterall maybe you should do more what the genre entails. I.E. shooting

:)

You see this reply in just about every shooter forum. Yes, it's a shooter, but it's also somewhat an emulation of warfare and infantry combat. Funnily enough, if people are close enough to hit each other - especially if they're out of ammo - they WILL hit each other. It's one thing to charge the enemy (although the Ghurkas have been doing that for a long time if their gun jams etc), but to come up behind someone and kill them without bullets is ABSOLUTELY acceptable.

..Also, considering the nanosuits give you superhuman strength, taking out the melee would basically make that quality superhumanly retarded.

So tell me how in an emulation of warfare and infantry combat a single gun butt could kill an enemy but a 7.62 sniper round to the chest could not?

yup thats why you can go up behind someone in stealth and break their neck or stab them.

thats why you hold down the melee and it does a charged super human punch.

P.S its a video game and realistic warfare tactics have no use in a game were aliens are invading new york and a man in a suit made out of titanium is our last hope.

That's one of the problems when a melee requires multiple hits. A similar issue exists in Restistance 2, occasionally you don't know if your hit was successful or not because the usual feedback, death, did not occur.

I was simply discussing the implicit proposition you made that melee attacks should not be used in shooters. I made no reference to bullets and their damage.
