only 6 hrs to skyrim!

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:32 am

No, only this local retailer nearby me (he sells almost every game 3-4 days before the release) he is called "playtime". They have only 2 stores in austria.

Btw. From there i got BF3 four days before the release^^

You perhaps just got him out of business :P

I got my Skyrim copy next to me at the moment. But it's for the PC. Apperantly pretty much every store in the Netherlands broke street date, I couldn't resist.

I'll gladly wait till 11-11-11 anyway.

I'm waking up up early, 11-11-11 and going to the store to buy it as I only get paid on Friday. I'm happy to do that though as I'll remember the day then always that I first played Skyrim, my most anticipated game probably ever!.. Unless it's sold out. :ahhh:

Dam PC version has to wait until 11/11/11 even if you get the shipment earlier.
Sometimes the release date check just mess up and you can't play even until one or two days after release.

Over here in the Netherlands the game is sold in stores almost everywhere. Mine was shipped yesterday and should be arriving today or tomorrow.
Can't say I really mind personally (who would?) but I can understand how annoying it must be for others plus it's also not really cool most retailers don't seem to care about release dates at all for any game. I've heard people saying that the confusion is because of all the other releases Tuesday but I don't think that's an excuse; trailers and such have been showing 11-11-11 for ages!

I would think that it's becoming more difficult to compete with the likes of digital retailers like Steam, Impulse etc, so they are almost forced to start selling it early to anybody still willing to buy brick and mortar.

I used to be hardcoe brick and mortar customer, and over the period of about 3 or 6 months I slowly switched over to digital purchases after finally realizing just how convenient it was for me, now I don't shop in brick and mortar shops for games unless the only place to get a title is in the B&M retail shop.

Yes, I can see why some real world shops would want to sell their copies early, just to ensure they got them sold.

Obviously the stupidist thing about this whole launch, is them choosing 11-11-11, especially when we know that the shops already have the game sitting in the back room, it's all just for show it would appear and seems rather pointless.

Seems like many people are getting Skyrim early, usually in Europe. Bethesda doesn't even seem to mind.

Personally I think bethesda should seek out those selling the game before the release date and seek the maximum punishment by law. It's stealing basically. People all claim they love Bethesda and yet you can't even wait for a simple release date ? If I have to wait for it so should everyone else. Before anyone says its jealousy no it isn't I just dont see why people should be allowed to break the rules and get away with it.
