If someone writes "lolz i wont have any social life when skyrim comes, ill lose my job and wife and 3 kids to the plague", don't be naive enough to take it 100% seriously. Geez.

Skyrim may be just a game, but it's one of the best games. No other game series gives as many hours of enjoyment.

The phrase "just a game" is hopelessly inadequate. A moment's thought will show you that a new meaning to the English word "game" is emerging over the last couple of decades. Remember that a couple of hundred years ago "game" just meant something you hunt or shoot.

What we "gamers" appreciate simply cannot be dismissed by this "just a game" label. The OP is indicating that it's not real so is therefore somehow less valuable. Shakespeare isn't "real." Virgil, Tolstoy, dikeens, Balzac. Bugs Bunny. And they have all enriched my life hugely. Tell all the world's art critics and literature professors that what they love, what illuminates their lives, is "just a story", "just a painting."

I'll go further. I'll get "real.' Politics is real. It is also ugly, sour, cheap, sinister and degrading to the human spirit. Bugs and Will and Charlie (above) and Skyrim are inspirational, life-enhancing and magnificent.

And while I'm being a pompous literary type let me drag in T.S. Eliot:
