I'm sorry but the mere thought of jumping back into Oblivion just doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. That buggy awkward AI, the awkward faces, the fact that 3 voice actors did the EVERY voice for EVERYONE in Tamriel, the dumb havok physics and awkward ragdolls, the omniscient guards who are ready to hack your spleen out when you accidentally steal some dude's apple.... The list goes on.

There's just no more enjoyment I can squeeze out of that game. I'm sorry. Believe me I've tried, but all it is to me now is a big glaring ball of disappointment.

Yeah I'll end up playing it again. And Morrowind. The nostalgia will kick in sooner or later.

I had Oblivion music (the mellow stuff) playing on my head all night last night as I was trying to drift off to sleep. I will miss it, but to be fair even compared to just watching Skyrim videos it feels clunky to play, and I know the game so well it took me a while to get really back into it.

I just finished off the Shivering Isles and that is such a great expansion. The bizarre scenery and more interesting dungeons and crazy story lines compared to Oblivion makes me really excited to see how far they've run with that in Skyrim.

And this time tomorrow I will be playing the game I have been waiting almost a year (officially, several years unofficially) to play Elder Scrolls V. SO EXCITED. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, I want to go to bed now so that I'll wake up earlier tomorrow and get to open my presents.

I'm also particularly happy that not only do I have the weekend off, but it's looking extremely likely that I might be getting things back together with the one lady I really really want. Life is good at the moment :-)

I started to play oblivion again yesterday (To kill mud crabs) and after seeing Skyrim gameplay, it didn't feel or play as good as it use to. I said my goodbye this morning. :(

This but slightly edited

I still play Morrowind. Oblivion will get its playtime once I need a break from Skyrim, I'm sure.

More like good riddance. Been trying to play Oblivion again lately, and I always have to shut it down around levels 5-9. Once skeleton guardians and clannfear runts show up, it's time to quit.

You actually make it a good 4 levels farther then I can. Honestly I found no positives to that game ever. After Morrowwind, Oblivion (IMO) was trash.

I've been playing Oblivion since 2006, in my freshman year of high school. I am now a sophmore in college and I still play it. I've had some sweet memories with Oblivion. Amazing game, even better with mods, and an amazing community. It's the game that introduced me to the Elder Scrolls and all of its fascinating lore. I'm not abandoning Oblivion, though. My current character, an Imperial ranger and hunter named Vintius, is far from completing his mission, and he still has many adventures to embark on. I'll take a trip to Cyrodiil from Skyrim sometimes.

Considering I still play Daggerfall and Morrowind... I doubt I've seen the last of Oblivion now that Skyrim is here. All TES are like one big family :D

It's kind of like reading one's favorite books. I read The Lord of the Rings once a year, and have since my dad gave me my first copy when I was in grade school. I still go back and play Morrowind from time to time, and will continue to do so (with Oblivion as well).
