Skyrim activate on Steam PC

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 7:11 pm

Incorrect, Steam is unlocking just after midnight for EACH individual time zone.

Wrong. My Steam window says it unlocks at 9 PM PST.

It unlocks at midnight for each REGION. The entire US gets it at 12 PM EST (9 PM PST).

I'm from the Netherlands. According to steam it will unlock at 02:00 AM. which is 5.5 hours from now, though some people in this thread seem to think it will unlock around 0:00.

So, Do we go by the timer, or will it unlock at 0:00 local time for everyone?

It is supposed to unlock at midnight everywhere, but I changed my region to Germany (from Poland) and it shows that it will unlock at 01 am, so midnight goes out the window.

your timers are right, Some people live in timezone that will be 00:00 when it unlocks for their region.

I'm using this time to sleep. I've set my alarm to 23:55. Here's to hoping that I just shut my eyes and open them again when Skyrim is activated with it feeling like no time has passed at all. :flamethrower:
You'll wake up at 8 bro.

It's supposed to be 0:00 GMT for europe. Which means 2:00 for me.

That Greenwhich time, it's so mean :shakehead:

yep, france is GMT +1 and steam remaining hours correspond to 01:00 for me so it correspond. they just can't bother to unlock at midnight for EACH time region, it would be so complicated for nothing.

Only impatient because people have it, and they don't so they deem it unfair and want to be able to play it the same time others can.

Are you people seriously so hyped up that you can't wait these couple of hours? There will always be reasons to complain - if the game goes live at the same time ewerywhere, then a large number of gamers will be angry because the time is "inconvenient" for them - they will be at work, school, party, funeral, whatever. Hell, I myself won't be playing Skyrim too much when it releases, I have to wake up early in the morning and I don't want to look like a junkie strung out on meth. So Old McDonald across the street is playing TESV to death - I couldn't care less. And cut the Aussies some slack, they get effed over far too often by censorship or ridiculous pricing - at least they can play Skyrim early ;)

I have plenty of spare time. Once it releases though, I have to wait a whole day afterwards because my brother has to get on (we're forced to switch being on the only good computer that can run games in our house) So i'd have to wait a full day while watching HIM playing it......It makes meee maad :swear:

People should be happy that its a world wide release, because normally the Americans/Canadians get the games 3 days before us Brits and our fellow Europeans... A few hours is nothing to complain over. Go outside take the dog for a walk. Do something other than complain.

Lol how about the rest of us who actually have to wait for 11/11/11 before buying it?or that can only enjoy it for a day a week because we are very tight with time on other stuff?

I hear ya, and I'll only have a few hours to play this weekend due to SWTOR's weekend beta. Though I'll have all day Monday and Tuesday to play Skyrim.
