1) Not everyone has high definition monitors or sound systems, so to these people, I'm sure the game will look or sound better than if they actually did, given their current computer hardware. In fact, I still enjoy playing games like Baldur's Gate 1&2 and Icewind Dale 1&2. I even enjoy how they look. Those were way before 2006.
2) Everyone is different in what they look for in a game. The ones complaining are usually the ones that are very specific in their needs in a game.
3) There has never been a game or piece of software that was perfect on release day.
4) There may be over 200,000 people playing it on Steam, but that doesn't mean they aren't dissatisfied with some things. People don't have to complain to be dissatisfied. Not everyone is comfortable with complaining either. If you really think that 200,000 people playing the game on Steam = they're all happy campers compared to the "handful" that are actually complaining, then it show's how really dense you are.
5) The "million" of people who are playing it on console also are subjected to #2 of this post. And same thing goes for them in that not everyone who finds a flaw in the console version is going to rant about it.
6) Yes, it's quite possible that the creators behind this game may have lied, in that the PC version would not be a port from a console, and people are angry at that. Let them. You really going to let those people dictate how you enjoy your gaming experiences?
7) The biggest issue people are having: Buying this game and not having it live up to their expectations. That's $60 down the drain, for them... hell, what about those people who paid over $100 for the collectors editions? In fact, this is what it always comes down to for any game out there. My advice, don't jump on something right away because you think it will be "AWESOME!!!".. do your research first and then see if what the nay sayers are expressing, is something you can live with. If you don't, then the joke is on you.
