Out of combat HP regen... :)

I don't pause combat and chug health potions. I don't even switch weapons much if I don't have to. I make myself wait until the coast is completely clear before I drink a potion.

Having your health be slowly restored after combat takes away the need for you to be cautious and plan before going into battle. It takes away the need for you to manage your resources properly and ensure that you have what you need before going out to adventure. Playing the game this way adds great depth to the gameplay and ultimately makes the entire experience more satisfying and immersive.

This is why I refuse to start playing the game until I figure out a way to turn off health regeneration.

Exactly.

HP regen also greatly devalues the restoration spells and potions. When combat is over there is no need to drink potions or cast healing spells because by the time your done looting bodies, looking around the room, and finding the next group of enemies, you're already at max health.

They told us that regenerating health would be slow and take awhile to fully heal.

Bull.

It only takes a minute to fully regenerate. Practically makes the entire restoration skill WORTHLESS. (in my opinion)

Maybe they implemented this to appeal to the COD idiots?

Whatever.

we re discussing, NOT complaining... after all, why would you need restoration, potions or food then?

Because you can use those to heal yourself quickly mid combat. That's why I still need them. I'm not going to just run way and hide in a corner for a few minutes. That's boring, and I'm not playing the game to get bored.

I was a bit bothered by the regeneration of magicka and hp as well. One of the things I always felt about both oblivion and fallout was that food should play in the roll of out of combat hp and magicka regen. Currently most of the food in Skyrim acts as either a decent buff or literally just health and fatigue potions. I think food should fit a different role in the game and leave the instant healing to potions and spells ect... I was kind of hoping that all of the food in Skyrim would be about giving you a super efficient regen over time. Dont eat enough and the regen should be super slow... So far this has been my only real issue with the game.
