Convenient of you to completely ignore the rest of my post, wherein I explain exactly why it's a problem.
You clearly don't even understand why I think it's a problem though, and I suspect it comes from the same lack of ability to immerse yourself in the game as the guy who made the third-person thread. There's nothing "wrong" with me just because I'm aware that something can and should be better. What's "wrong" with the whole world is the vast majority of people who AREN'T, and who just accept everything they're given.
You just turned a discussion about freaking legs in a video game into a rant about what's wrong with the world. Relax.
We're all super impressed with your amazing ability to immerse yourself in games. However, I guess you weren't immersed in Deus Ex, Ultima Underworld, Thief, Thief 2, or a multitude of other immersive sims that lacked this minor feature, then.
As it was explained, the game has a completely simulated mantling system. The amount of animation work to make full body animations work in tandem with that system would dwarf what Dice had to do with Mirror's Edge, and they were a much larger company working with a presumably much larger budget. Arkane has always had full leg animations before, so clearly there was a reason they left them out this time.
