New Years Resolution

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 2:56 pm

Congratulations, I hope you succeed in your effort. I managed to quit 13 years ago now. The main thing for me was (most likely different for everyone) that I had to break what I have dubbed the hand to mouth thing. Think about it for a minute, every day of your life, on a regular schedule you reach in your pocket and grab your smokes. Pop a cigarette in your mouth and light...then the hand goes to the mouth again and again and again till it's gone. Rinse and repeat this process 20-30-40 times a day, every day for 1 year, 5 years or 20...that's the hardest part to give up. Getting the nicotine out of your system is easy, but breaking the mental aspect (the hand to mouth thing) is a real [censored], but worth it once you get used to doing other things with your hands besides smoking.

I guess I still haven't broken that yet, because at school (and now at college) I was almost constantly seen with a pen or pencil in my mouth.

I'm going to quit smoking.

You'll never make it.

No, seriously, you won't.

It will all depend how bad you want to quit. I just quit cold turkey.

I have never made one. Maybe I can try to be more positive next year but that's going to be hard. This year was total crap and its going to carry over to the next. So I guess mine will be to not let it beat me down.

Mine are pretty essential, well most are:

1) Lose weight. I don't have a predetermined amount, since I don't actually know my weight at the moment. It will probably take longer than a year to reach my truly truly ideal weight but my goal is to get down to an XL by the end of summer and a L by the end of the year (currently 3XL)

2) Find a job. I keep applying, but the thing that kills me everytime is my lack of experience. I even had an interview at a place that in my opinion went GREAT, but I didn't have work experience and since they were opening a new store (well, new location) they wanted that. So that's a big goal.

3) Redefine myself in terms of fashion, personality, and appeal to the opposite six, which could be a subgoal of the first.

4)Bench 300 pounds by the end of the year. I have to start working on it, but I'm guessing Ill start out around 150. 170 or 180 if I'm hopeful. I'm turning 17 in a few days so I'm young and hopefully have a decent shot.

Those are mainly it. I need to write a book and read more philosophy and psychology and things of that nature but in terms of lifestyle changes these are my main ones.

I never make New Years resolutions, but this year I am. I am going to find a companion. Boyfriend sounds stupid at my age, so I'll just say companion. I refuse to be alone another year. hmmpphhh.

You could hire a mercernary in a tavern and go adventuring with them. :hehe:

Should I go adventuring with this person?
>Yes.
Do I really need to go with this person?
>Of course you could always use a travling compainion.
You took the mercernary along with you on an adventure however you failed to notice the CLEAR fact he was a mercenrary and probably had a contract on you and the end results where quite fatal. Sadly your day has come to a tragic end.
Just the two of us.
End.
{In need of a compainion tavel node has been unlocked}.
Spoiler
You need to play Radiant Historia to get the ending gag.

Actually, by making it in the first place, you instantly failed at keeping it.
I don't think this is the game, which you lost by the way.. so you'll have to explain yourself.

Heeheehee, I kind of like Jordis. Er, but not THAT way. So I'll keep her around until something better comes along. Thank God I got rid of Lydia, friggin' smart alec. Sometimes I'd "accidentally" hit her with a weapon. :whistling:

btw, is that how you get married in the game? I haven't tried that yet... Too busy to settle down. :P

i was thinking about my resolution being to eat healthier.

then realized that i should screw the whole resolution thing and just eat healthier from that point on, since i knew that if i can't start doing that until some arbitary point in time im not going to stick to it.
