The degradation rate in Fallout was reasonable though. In SS2 my weapons were breaking constantly. I constantly found myself resorting to melee or else just running through areas as fast as I could.
never had a problem myself. once again maintenence tools. but if you dont have maintenence tools then there is always melee weapons, psi powers, stealth or simply running away (you know, a tactic that was
forced on you in survival horrors like resident evil and silent hill?)
That's what I did too in the end. Also toned down the constantly respawning enemies. Infinite enemies plus a fixed total amount of ammo is not fun.
enemy respawn rate is dependant on difficulty level, in easy there is none, in normal mode it is reasonable.
Easy mode in SS2 is harder than hard mode in both Bioshocks though.
but bioshock had no difficulty really since you could never die/no consequence at all for dying.
