Because you won't really fall to your death unless you climb over the balcony railing, I guess? I sometimes feel a little dizzy standing on top of tall things in case I fall, thus contradicting what I just said, but one of my dreams is to go skydiving. Would you feel okay about standing on top of a tall building if you had a parachute I wonder?

Who's to say there's always a railing? Mountains, for instance, do not have railings.

I don't think there's a name for this, but I have an unusual fear of silence. I always need to have a TV or fan or something making some noise for me to sleep. I get the sickest, creeping feeling when it's totally silent.

I love heights, by the way.

Actually the fear of silence is called "sedatephobia".

And you wouldn't survive a day with me. I can't STAND noises so whenever it's physically possible, I turn absolutely everything off in my house and do my day to day stuff in silence. (Or at least, as quiet as I possibly can get it.) I honestly think that's why I'm such a night owl. I can walk outside and it's perfectly quiet.. can't do that during the day.

Or maybe I wouldn't survive a day with you... lol ;)

Ok, I admit this created a rather funny scenario in my head.
It was a hiliarious scenario in real life too. Her reaction to the wasp and then her pulling her trousers out a little to see what happened then the wasp just buzzes away through the space, and then you have me offering crisps as medical help as she runs around in fear

i thought so too, but i'm surprised by how many guys are scared of spiders.
i don't get it though. most people have never been hurt by a spider. i think it's just a fear people teach themselves because it's common.
Thats what I think it is, because someone had a bad experience and then told a story about it but exaggerated the spiders power, now making it a fearful creature capable of toppling man! :P

My friends a pilot in the RAF.....He's scared of heights and gets to fly their fighter jets.....but won't climb a tree even with safety equipment on :bonk:

I don't fear silence, but I don't like it. I have to have music, or the TV on in the background or I start to get anxious. I like stepping ouside to listen to the waves hit the shore and the birds sing in the wee hours of the morning. Silence svcks. Makes me think too much.
