Phobias

Also, when I used to drive in my driving lessons, I sometimes thought "what if I drove into the oncoming lane?".

I'm in driving lessons right now and think the same thing some times.

What has been seen cannot be unseen.
The thing about babies being tossed repeatedly was a little humourous though, in a sick way...

As for the comment earlier about avoiding babies in general, I feel that. When holding one, I'm so freaked out by the thought that I'll drop the little bastard and step on it by accident...

And the dark, to a certain degree.

Veins? As in needles injecting the veins or just the veins in general? I wouldn't say I have a phobia for them, but I'm very careful towards them.

I've got very prominent veins on my arms/legs especially after working out, and I get shivers thinking about scratching my arm or falling on the ground ripping them apart etc.. I'm very sensetive when it comes to that.

It is a bit complicated, but if I understand the ancient texts correctly, you need to get a bee to sting a bluebird.

I'm going to assume that the both of you are joking, or that neither of you know the definition of virginitiphobia.

Hold on. *opens up google*

EDIT: I am terribly sorry. I assumed that it was a made up phobia like the ones a few of us posted earlier in the thread (due to the word "virginity" in the name), and not an actual one as serious as that. Hope you can get over it soon, the world needs you too.

I'm pretty sure that's not what they thought it was, Daggerfall. That's a terrible name for it, btw... it leads everyone who hears it to believe it means the fear of being a virgin or something. Hence, the response.

(I had no idea until I googled it.)

It's fine, I was just curious at first because I assumed that freedomfighter121 could have been serious, and well, to cure a good deal of phobias the remedy is often exposing yourself to the fear... obviously not an option in this case.

Yes that is true, I am currently trying to cure my fear of heights. Every day, I go to the fourth floor of my spacious college and look over the balcony to the ground several hundred feet below. It is pretty scary, but it is a lot cheaper then skydiving lessons. Good luck on yours though, seeing as it is a real issue women face. :(

I was joking, I dont know what it means I just know what it sounds like.....

EDIT: Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize it was that serious.

I have a phobia of being buried alive and paralysis.

Not being able to move just terrifies me.

Reminds me of the CSI movie where one of the guys gets buried alive in a glass-coffin and they've got a time-limit to find him. I almost felt claustrohobic myself watching it.

Indeed I have this as well. The thought of not being able to move my arms just freaks me out. Straitjackets also terrify me for this same reason.

I don't see how being afraid of being paralyzed can be considered a phobia. I think it's more irrational not to fear paralysis. I guess many posts here describe common, rational fears, though, so no sense in nitpicking. I guess I already did, though.

Edit: I'm a rather repetitive person when I'm tired.
