This is an amazing day! This series needed to branch out desperately.

This is a sad day for me. One of the big draws of the Elder Scrolls, for me at least was the solo play. Not having to put up with griefers or kids that rush around and ruin the fun for everyone else that wants to take their time. I will admikt to a real fear that this means the end of the solo play Edler Scroll games.

It is a very sad day if this is so, another of the great games has been cheapened and dumbed down so quicky cash can be made.
THIS!
another great series goes down the drain.

Right, because we've never seen a single player series continue on after an MMORP-- oh wait, we have.

Excellent point. We have seen Square make a lousy single player FF13 and even worse online FF14.

And we've seen them make a good Final Fantasy XI and a good Final Fantasy XII.

FF11 was well done, I agree. FF12 was decent. But we are talking about games made years ago. Unfortunately for Square, FF14 has been a debacle. Hopefully Elder Scrolls Online fares better.

It's crazy that people thing this will affect the single player games more than a tiny bit.

It is an entirely different development team that will be working on TES:O. Zenimax/gamesas KNOWS that people love single-player Elder Scrolls games. The MMO will have little if any effect on the production of single-player games.

The Elder Scrolls Online has been in production for a year or two already, yet Skyrim was an outstanding success. Thus, we have no reason to believe that VI won't be just as, and probably more, dynamic and immersive.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but there's a really good trick that solves your problem. Are you ready for this? This is amazing, so brace yourself...

*Drum Roll*

Don't play it.

Hopefully it does.

That's why I'm not part of the "OMG TES IS DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAD" crowd... because well, I'm not acting like a really devoted fan.

All these people saying The Elder Scrolls is dead because of this were probably the SAME people who whined about the newer games not being as good as the older games and how TES has been dumbed down bla bla bla.

This is simply a golden opportunity to speal their doomsay. I'm sure their eyes brightened up at the sight of this announcement with all the idea's about Bethesda becoming the greedy corporation and milking the franchise now.

This is a cool new experiment and unless it's a WoW rip-off may be interesting. All the while your precious single player games (the ones you b*tched on anyway) will not be harmed.

I've been waiting for this day for a long time. And to have it being made by Matt Firor of all people, is quite surprising and refreshing.

Woo another MMO I don't give a rats ass about.

As much as I love TES, I have to agree with this sentiment. Yet another medieval-ish MMO desperately chasing after the WoW audience with all the mob grinding mechanics and juvenile chat spam? No thanks. It should have at least been a MMO based on the Fallout world with mature themes and such. That might have peaked my interest.
