Everyone's dating experiences are different, but you're only 18. That's not a lot of time to have practiced dating and dating is something that does take practice. It's like a math assignment, only harder because you can use the same pick-up line with different results. The best type of connection to make is one that comes naturally. I didn't find that until I was 28. Someone else I know didn't find it until they were 40-something. It's just different for everyone because of how big the world is and the variety of encounters that are possible. Online dating doesn't allow for natural connections and I certainly wouldn't encourage it under the best or worst of circumstances. And EVERYONE who has a satisfying relationship that I've talked to has always said they really got it when they weren't looking for it and were done with dating. So, don't worry about trying too hard to find someone. It'll happen when it happens. It's really just a matter of learning the balance between honesty and social tact. Time and patience are your best allies.

"Alright, cue the cheesy music and cut! That's a wrap folks!"
