TES you broke my heart

I just have an extreme distatse for them to me they are glorified social sites that you pay for every month. I am going to follow this game to try to gain more info on it, but as far ad me ever playing it no I will not.
Well, it all depends of how you feel the game when it comes. May be you see it and you just love it. May be you see it and you just dont like it. And the same will happen to me. Im looking forward to it, but in the end we need to see it in the whole.
The same with skyrim, even we knew a lot before release, we cant really taste it till we played it.

No problems with anything you said except I won't call it the best game. I've just seen far too much of the "Bethesda isn't making the game" response in many threads. Most who use it are ill informed it seems. So I thought I'd just run in and talk to myself because I have nothing better to do right now.
That is the only argument some can come up with, I am worried about the series as a whole and what ideas Bethesda will get from Zenamax offering with its online game, Skyrim has me worried and its lost my attention because of all of its bugs, now I am worried about the future of the series with ESO.

What a bitter taste Skyrim left in my mouth one I still taste when I see the game, I know I will hate it, just like MMOs in general the first one I played was Sims Online and sense then I could not get into them then there was WoW I thought it was a good idea at first, and with that game Blizzard has practically killed Warcraft, and now Bethesda will use some ideas from ESO in future single player games you can understand my concern I am sure.

BUT you can state that the team that develops single player and the team that are developing the MMO ARE different.

Well, as you are so dissapointed and you dont like Skyrim, and dont like MMO, I think (no mean to be rude) you may just look for other new or different game that attracts you for a long while, cause it seems till TES VI you are hopeless.

Believe me I have moved on maybe I will revisit Morrowind but I an going to test each patch for Skyrim because I have a sliver of hope that it might get fixed because its the bugs that have stopped me from playing it. The MMO I will never play, and I hope TES VI gives us back our options but that if for another discussion. I am here as a long time fan giving and getting advice, that is why my Sig says quid pro quo, I will voice my displeasure and my hopes here on this forum for my all time favorite game series.

That is a good attitude of you sir. I must say, if you are a PC player, the modding community maked my skyrim a really worthy one experience.

I understand no company wants to be the first person to do anything because if it fails than they just wasted money. So i guess i just had my hopes to high when i heard about TESO. Zenimax/Bethesda is no different from anyone else they dont want to take the risk and fail they would rather someone else to take the risk and jump on the bandwagon.

Sometimes taking a risk is worth it:

1. Guildwars - No monthly fees when every MMO is doing 10-15 dollar subs.

2. EVE - sandbox, player economy, developer-backed currency.

3. Maple Story - one of the first and most successful F2P.

Incoming - Diablo 3 and it's RMAH.

Can people please stop citing Diablo III as an MMO? I'm as excited as anyone else, but it isn't an MMO by any stretch of the imagination.

At no point was MMO mentioned. What the listed games have in common are their willingness to break from the mold, particularly with regards to their business model.

Yes I am aiming to get a PC so I can make the game how I wish for it to be and then I will report bugs to the people that make the unofficial patch I know they do an amazing job. The kidding community is full of talented people and I cannot wait to try some mods out.

The Main Event and Varking seem to be spending hours each day responding numerous times to snark at every and any person that doesn;t like the looks of this game. I'm pretty sure almost all of their posts are 'The Game looks Amazing' (Main Event) or 'Hope the door doesn't hit you on the way out/ leave the forum if you don't like it' (Varking)

Seriously. It's like these two have a notepad doc open that they cut and paste out of on every single topic.

If anything is worse than reading all the hate threads, it's the 2 guys here with nothing better to do than make post after post saying the same thing hundreds of times. Maybe I should start posting 'In Before Varking tells the OP to leave the forum!' on every thread. It would have as much content as most of his posts.

It is pretty annoying,I am just wondering why they think TES:O is going to be such a great game, and why they are so excited,i mean they can be excited if they want too,But they havent played the game yet,We have info how it is,But do they like these typical MMOs? is that the reason? or is it just that it takes place in tamriel? Well i am not excited, but i havent played the game. waiting for more info,if the game is going to fail i dont care,i would care if a singleplayer TES Game would fail,But i dont know,i dont have "feelings" for this game, that sounded silly, but maybe you know what i mean.

Sorry. I'm new here, so perhaps this post can be freely shoved under the rug, but I'm relatively excited for the prospect of what The Elder Scrolls Online could be. As someone that spent years of his life playing FFXI and World of Warcraft, I am a fan of MMORPGs. I don't much play those games anymore since I'm busy with graduate school, but The Elder Scrolls series is a franchise I've always made time to play. I've been playing since Morrowind, so I'm not entirely an old school fan, but I'm old enough to consider myself above the title of being a "casual" fan. But reading this message board and seeing a wealth of comments like this:

ha I think I got trolled. I don't think its possible for anyone to be excited about this game.
Some enthusiastic fans are going to have a lot of pie in the face if this game does crash and burn.
Well they aren't real ES fans, they are just typical mmo players that will play anything as long as it is a mmo.

I'm somewhat confused. As a fan of TES, I'm not allowed to enjoy MMOs? I play tons of different games. I spent this past weekend playing NHL 12, Battlefield 3, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. That doesn't diminish my favoritism toward The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim in the slightest -- so why does having varied interests make me less of a fan?

We've heard very little information surrounding the game, leaving little room to be excited or nervous about beyond what we ourselves can imagine. I never played SWTOR so I have no idea what the negativity surrounding its engine is based off of. I'm sure there's some logical reason behind it, but just because a game uses the same engine, that doesn't mean it will look or perform exactly the same way.

So I'm excited for what The Elder Scrolls Online could be. Social and academic life constraints aside, I've always liked the idea of an Elder Scrolls game being played online since my days of playing FFXI back in high school, and I'd be willing to dedicate the time for it, however much I can. With what little information we've received, it's hard to tell whether or not this will be what I've always wanted. I hope it is. And I'd rather not read insults slung around here because some people hope it isn't.

If it ends up being a terrible game, the fanbase will vote with their wallets. Vote with yours, and please don't judge others for how they use theirs. We're all fans of the same franchise here, even if our hatred of Oblivion comes in different waves.

Thanks.
