TES you broke my heart

TES you broke my heart today.

I was overjoyed at the idea that TESO would be a reality. I spent the days between the GI cover leak and me actually reading the article biting the nails from my fingers. And it was today that you made me my heart sink into my stomach.

I thought a franchise stepping into a new genre of gaming could mean the much needed recreation of said genre. Every mmo for the last 10-15 years has been the same third person click and pew pew style of gamplay and honestly its very stale imo (dont get me wrong i played wow for 4 years aion for beta rift for a week and swtor for a month so i used to enjoy mmos very much).

But now i read that your going with the if its not broke dont fix it method the problem is a video game is not a car its more like bread (gets stale fast). I just dont understand how you can make these amazing single player experinces and just throw all that work out the window. The best part of any TES game was being the person I wanted to be, i didn't have to fit a set archetype. If i wanted to be a two handed wielding light armor wearing who runs wildly into to danger that is my choice.

IDC if anyone reads this or responds at all i just felt i needed to vent my disappointment somewhere and this seemed a good a place as any.

Thank you for your time

Zenimax is making it. If you don't like it blame them.

I understand no company wants to be the first person to do anything because if it fails than they just wasted money. So i guess i just had my hopes to high when i heard about TESO. Zenimax/Bethesda is no different from anyone else they dont want to take the risk and fail they would rather someone else to take the risk and jump on the bandwagon.

Sorry you feel that way. I couldn't be happier and TESO looks amazing. This is going to take the series where it needs to go.

I really wish people would wait until they actually knew anything about the game to start forming such strong opinions.

Yeah millions are in shock that the TESO will toss away all the Elder Scrolls goodness we have enjoyed for years just so they can make a WoW generic mmo and a quick dollar. As always business > passion for gaming. I wish people would stop saying wait for the details because we have the details. Go out and buy the Game Informer magazine and read the article.

i agree. Lets see some gameplay footage before we start really making assumptions about how terrible or great the game will be.

You have details? Do share.

I'd like to know the nitty-gritty specifics of the combat system, itemization, how guilds work in the game, PvP mechanics, system requirements, questing systems, how grouping will work, the in-game economy, etc. etc....

Some enthusiastic fans are going to have a lot of pie in the face if this game does crash and burn.

Crash and burn based off personal expectations? No. I've always dreamed of adventuring Tamriel with bunch of friends and a world filled with other people. TESO is all that and more. Thank you Zeni.

Well they aren't real ES fans, they are just typical mmo players that will play anything as long as it is a mmo.

Well yes, bussiness is in the profit business. Who knew! That GI article had some rather scant "details" so I wouldn't want to judge a game that is about a year away from release by simply reading that. There is no need to guess whether the game will be excellent or a disaster at this point. Just wait till next year and try it in beta and then make a more informed judgement.

And then you have the haters forming such strong opinions about a game that was announced just a week ago. Wait for the details. I have the Game Informer and I have read and watched all the interviews since. Little is actually known about the game. Now what I would like to know, is if you aren't going to play, why are you till here?

It makes me feel who else is leading this game development has never played a TES game before, Matt Firor said in an interview he is a fan since arena, but i highly doubt that since it seems he isn't even trying to make this [censored] TES game works right :[
He better make something that give me a reason to play TES:O over GW2, or i i'll be [censored] mad for missing the lore existing in this title.

You must be trolling. Tab targeting, faction based, class based, art style that looks nothing like ES, the trash Hero engine (If you played SWTOR you'll see why its trash). This isnt where the series needs to go. This is going backwards...

There's plenty of people excited about this massive project. Just look around the forum here. Hopefully Skyrim is still captivating your imagination.
