It is my intention to make the dragons of Skyrim something worthy of their reputation. The CK can't get here soon enough.

I believe the problem is mainly that dragons just have too little health. A player can easily do 300 or more damage a second, and my dual weilding character can fell a dragon the first time it lands...that shouldn't happen, at least not with blood dragons on up. A mod that boosts their health would be fairly easy to do, i'd think.

Idk what difficulty you all play on but on Master difficulty I wouldn't dare try and take a dragon on without a shield, let alone two swords. Getting caught in an elder dragons fire breath for more than a fraction of a second is almost always instant death, and getting mauled up close takes off almost my entire health bar in one shot. Last night I had a 15 minute duel with an elder because I had to constantly shuffle between cover to avoid him flanking me and gradually start stepping out to fire off spells and arrow attacks to pick away at his health.

Keep in mind im wearing full legendary dragon bone armor, full heavy armor perk tree, several magic resistance enchantments and health buffs. etc. and I still get my teeth kicked in.

They are easy if you know what you are doing..

1. Daedric > Dragon armor.
2. Alchemy is OP..Spam dat potion!
3. Find cover(with roof, or a pillar you can dance around) and peek out and shoot for ez kill.
4. Companions makes things even freaking easier.. Meatshields ftw. (Don't use one myself because of that).
5. Relates to nr 2, but..RESISTANCE POTIONS! You can get potions with 50%+ resistance to a specific element, and if you have resistance on gear..Well lets just say it near impossible to die.

I'm about level 12 and apart from that first dragon I have not managed to even knock a dragons health down one third of the way!

I solo'd my 1st dragon when I exited BFB & it spotted me. Ran to a nearby cave & hid from it's flames.
Bow combat until it was low then ran down to water & survived some roasting as I plunged arrow after arrow in him repeatedly, so I could see where he flew to die.
Took forever but they are relatively stupid if you have a decent shelter.
He COULD have landed at entry to cave & roasted me easily.
But he didn't so it was easier than I thought - just a lot of waiting to get off each 1-2 shots took 2 hours overall, 95% waiting.
Get to any doorway with an open space behind it, he will show up & flame but will take off when you damage him.
Rinse/repeat = dead dragon, at least until I get more skills.
I was level 9 or 10.

I use this weakness in the game all the time to toy with multiple critters in dungeons. Go into any space too small to hold you both & even casters will not fire IF you are out of line-of-sight quickly.
Then I fire away at my leisure while they glower at me.
Hope they fix that soon but it IS riotous to watch them!!!!!!!!
My rogue can clear 4 or 5 out of a room quickly but WTH sometimes it's just too easy to play with the AI like this.

Here's an idea...

Let's play with the Lore and say there are two factions of Dragons -- the kind that are attacking Skyrim, and a partially passive kind that are far, far stronger. Like Giants, the partially passive kind will only attack when you get too close.

How dare you suggest that we pretend!

That's what I did (minus the daedric armor). I was just stating that going toe to toe on master with a dragon is a death sentence most of the time, depending on the type of dragon.

Especially if your just running along minding your own business then outta nowhere an elder dragon blankets you with fire, in which case you disintegrate :teehee:
