Console games here are $100+ on release, with PC games usually around $80-$100. We even get screwed over by Steam. A game on sale for $5 for you guys is usually $15-20 for us.
And this is with the Aussie dollar being slightly above parity with the US$

that's awful, as I seem to remember the whole reason we went to disc data was to make the price go down since it was cheaper to produce than a cartridge.
in any case that's not surprising. It's annoying, and it makes me think twice (even more) about how involved I'll be gettin in this console cycle, but not surprising. I'd like to actually see some of this next-gen stuff though. I mean are the graphics going to be any better? will we see more compex games? just what exactly warrants a new generation considering that this one has seemed like the plateu as far as tech. went for a while.
