my expectations for this game were absolutely sky high, and the amazing thing is that it pretty much met all of them. I was setting myself up for a massive dissapointment that just never came, and that makes Skyrim pretty damn amazing in my book. I can't actually think of one other game that's ever lived up to and beyond the hype as much as Skyrim has for me. I don't register 'bugs' as having any real impact on my gaming experience, unless one of them somehow completely ruins the game for me by deleting all my saves and melting my graphics card, basically if a bug is bad enough then chances are bethesda will fix it in due course, so i'm not going to rate the game down too much for it.
In terms of gameplay, RPG and levelling mechanics, sheer amount of content, roleplaying potential, for me Skyrim makes other games like mass effect, dragon age, deus ex, oblivion -pretty much any RPG i can think of that i've played in the last 10 years, look like a joke by comparison. I can count the number of things i consider genuinely wrong with it on one finger - the skills screen is a bit fiddly to navigate with a keyboard and mouse. The game still features all the usual bethesda 'quirks' that have been present since morrowind (or perhaps before, i wouldn't know), the likes of which any elder scrolls fan is so used to by now that it doesnt even register.
To sum up, my favourite game of all time, period.
