For me Skyrim is Flawless and Polished

You could argue that the game is polished enough but it is still a deeply flawed game.

No game will ever be flawless to everyone. People love complaining like cats like to screw. I just wanted to see if there was anyone who had zero problems and enjoyed their game immensly not dictate to every person who can't appreciate anything.

Btw, if you guys think this is buggy, try New Vegas. Buggy as a game can possibly get, great game, not flawless, but great game.

I am here with you man - best game ever made...ever..

Flawless no, but darn close.

No bugs, lag , or any problems yet.

I think a lot of people are missing the "For me" in the "For me Skyrim is Flawless and Polished". Are you guys seriously in here trying to change his opinion, like that's something you can do?

Flawless? No. But it is a damn good game, among the best you'll play for the next few years.

Its wrong to make a dragon weaker than an ice troll.. catering to the MW demographic ? :nono:
How is that catering to the Morrowind demographic? They obviously didn't cater to the Morrowind demographic if this is the case.

I'm not really a picky game, i don't get rage when something goes wrong. Skyrim is one of the best RPG's this gen in my opinion, if not the best.

I think he meant Modern Warfare, could be wrong though.

Wait wait wait

So you think the voice acting, script and scripting in Skyrim are good?

Don't get me wrong fighting my first dragon was wicked cool but the leadup "go get 'em" speech at Whiterun was simply embarrassing. I groaned, I literally groaned, at how bad it was.

Skyrim: "Now we're fighting a dragon" 1-2 seconds of complete silence "That's right, a dragon"
Me: wth?
Skyrim: "Now are you going to be Nords and stand with me?" four very half-hearted cheers and claps before the NPCs file out in robot mode.
Me: please...stop talking....

my expectations for this game were absolutely sky high, and the amazing thing is that it pretty much met all of them. I was setting myself up for a massive dissapointment that just never came, and that makes Skyrim pretty damn amazing in my book. I can't actually think of one other game that's ever lived up to and beyond the hype as much as Skyrim has for me. I don't register 'bugs' as having any real impact on my gaming experience, unless one of them somehow completely ruins the game for me by deleting all my saves and melting my graphics card, basically if a bug is bad enough then chances are bethesda will fix it in due course, so i'm not going to rate the game down too much for it.

In terms of gameplay, RPG and levelling mechanics, sheer amount of content, roleplaying potential, for me Skyrim makes other games like mass effect, dragon age, deus ex, oblivion -pretty much any RPG i can think of that i've played in the last 10 years, look like a joke by comparison. I can count the number of things i consider genuinely wrong with it on one finger - the skills screen is a bit fiddly to navigate with a keyboard and mouse. The game still features all the usual bethesda 'quirks' that have been present since morrowind (or perhaps before, i wouldn't know), the likes of which any elder scrolls fan is so used to by now that it doesnt even register.

To sum up, my favourite game of all time, period.

Right. To the people insulting the OP for saying that the game is flawless: If you're going to be pedantic enough to list the flaws/bugs/etc, then perhaps you need to be just as pedantic about syntax. Re-read the title of this thread. It reads: 'For me Skyrim Is Flawless and Polished'. The words 'For me' are an important clause - the game is not stated to be flawless, it is stated to be flawless for him. If the bugs don't impact someone in any way, then the game can indeed be flawless to them. The word flawless can be used objectively (as in a flawless equation, a flawless copy of something, etc) but, as is more evident with its synonym, 'perfect', it is also completely viable as a subjective term.
Fair point.

But it's no surprise that most of the replies disagree.

The lack of hand to hand as a dedicated combat skill is one thing off the top of my head, that I consider a flaw.

Only complaint is that the draw distances still haven't improved that much over Oblivion, except for trees and mountains. Other than that they're OK.

1. It's not flawless, or there would be zero room for improvement.
2. It's not flawless, but there will be patches.

but I never see them.
The game has frozen 3 different (ps3) times over about 50 hours of play time (I had nothing else to do lately...)
Companions move when you go away from them and come back.

Seriously, I see no glitches in-game despite all the videos on youtube I've found.

Almost flawless victory mate (OP you did shoot yourself in the foot by listing your RPG experiance), technical issues aside this is a really ambitious game and they have pulled it off. Congrats Bethesda Keep up the Good Work!

We all know how buggy oblivion was but we gave em time and they fixed a great deal of issues the same will happen here.

Flawless?

I've seen many floating trees, rocks, objects, etc.
I've experienced numerous Dragon lock ups.
I've experienced bugged quests.
The UI doesn't work properly with a mouse and is generally poor.
Enchanting is ridiculously powerful.
Companions/followers often block your way.
Some textures are an eyesore.
Shadows, even on max, look like they are being cast by lego blocks.
Draw/LOD distance is WAY too short.
Many spoiler related bugs I won't post.

Is it a good game? Sure. But flawless? LOL.
-Sigh- This.

The only way you could consider this game flawless is if you're deliberately ignoring the flaws.

Well day 1:

5/6 hours wasted in downloading a game I had a DVD for - instructions to overcome this didn't work for me - then having to try many solutions to sound problems that meant I couldn't hear NPC's unless I looked about 90 degrees away from them (meant I had no understanding of the main quest line).

Days 2/4:

The game did blow me away. The graphics/look and feel are amazing. Yet again I find myself stopping a looking at the view from hill/mountain tops. The NPC's have taken a huge step forward, they create a lot of atmosphere and bring the game world to life. The sort of cut-scenes you get in some areas to introduce the stroylines really give atmosphere, great job.

Day 5+:

Level scaling has started to annoy me. I really am the type that likes to just explore, but so many locations only make sense as part of question story lines, exploring is not really a good idea. Dungeons are just a bit too linear for me (beautiful mind). Not seeming any quality loot or unique items that make dungeon crawlling rewarding (although just got Azure's star which is nice)

The game has unfortunately lost a lot of it's initial appeal.

It's still a great game. It's definitely worth the £29.99. It's beaten my expectations hands down, because after the sell out that Oblivion was I really wasn't expecting any kind of RPG in Skyrim at all.

Flawless ...... no, definitely not flawless. Elder Scrolls appeal has been based on sandbox. Skyrim is ultimately feeling like a really nice movie to me. You go talk to NPC, get quest, go through linear dungeon, progress on next task. The graphics, the NPC's, the handcrafted dunegons, great task lines all make that movie really fun to watch but I am just choosing what order the scenes come in. It's ultimately not that epic sandbox RPG I am craving. Great game though.

Flawless in terms of bugs and glitches is something you're not going to find in any game or software. There's always some type of bug. Some of the best games ever made are known for being plagued with bugs. S.t.a.l.k.e.r series anyone? Their greatness makes you want to overlook the flaws.

Greatest game ever though... I'd say yes Skyrim is there at the top. I love it, it's everything I wanted it to be. Thanks Bethesda!

  • Every child looks exactly alike (regardless of six) and they appear to be pulled directly from fallout in terms of both personality and appearance.
  • Your head goes invisible when wearing a mask and the arch-mage robes.
  • Tons of quest items in inventory that are bugged.
  • Infinite magicka regeneration bug.
  • Quest that will not complete.
  • Random crashes without any error message.
  • FX won't display on certain cards.
