Not sure if double post... Or the clone wars has begun.

Still waiting to know what that particle is though :D It may or may not be what they think it is :)

And just before we make that ultimate discovery on December 21, 2012, the world will explode. :ahhh:
Well, some people have theorized that the Large Hadron Collider would be the cause of the end of the world. :P

Maybe it already did and we just haven't noticed yet.

I wish I could stop reading that as the "Larger Hardon Collider". :(

You shouldn't think too much of it. At an informal gathering at our school, one of the speakers constantly called it the Large Hydrogen Collider.

Never believed in this type of science personally. Still don't. I doubt they'll get it right anyway. An episode of the Big Bang Theory covering this would be good though.

Just imagine the potential for weight loss programs.

Never believed in science.

How can you " not " believe in science?

I'm not sure you understand what Science is, an attempt to explain the natural world.

It says that the moon isn't made of cheese and is therefore rubbish.

"I reject your reality and substitute it for my own!"

As far as I understand it, it isn't confirmed that they've discovered the "God particle" but they are still working on ensuring that it is. Seems likely that they have, based upon the measurements they got though.

Very exciting news however.

It's basically the particle that everything else came from. It's where matter gets its mass from. It helps us to understand the origin of and evolution of the universe.
Are we sure this particle wasn't created by... whatever? ;)

But vometia the moon is cheese and don't you ever listen to that science lot, they are lying! If wallace and gromit taught me anything it is that the moon is cheese. Fact. ^_^

This is intresting news though. I like it when sciency things happen because it makes me wonder what new things we will discover in the next 10 years. It's like when you go back and look at Tomorrow's World and see what they said. Now in the 'future' you can laugh at some of the ideas.

Science as in finding the "God Particle" The Big Bang, Evolution etc. I don't believe in. I have no problem with technology.

There is adequate evidence supporting the Big Bang theory like the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmic_background_radiation

I just love it when symmetry splits, then gets all symmetrical again for the first time in 13 billion years or so, just because we told it to. All we need to do now is generate an artificial event horizon, detect quantum tunneling, prove black holes aren't necessarily the end and break out the Crucial Brew.

[Crucial Brew is brought to you by background and cosmic radiation, lots of chance and junk DNA, all working together to make the future's possibilities better than the past's possibilities.]

The God particle is a mislable to be honest, it is really just the actual reason for mass. I'm sure you believe in that?

And if evolution isn't real, how come bacteria can develop resistance to poisons and we can "regress" corn by selecting the weakest strains?
