Wow....looks like they overhauled cooking.....sweet :)
It really needs it, what exactly is being done with the cooking I can't find anything on it.

Wow, I go away from the forums for a while and come back to this. This is awesome. I've wanted to build my own house since day 1. Thanks a bunch. Looks like there will be many options too. I would have liked more areas to choose from but I'll survive...

Well, you can eat uncooked food, and it has limited healing properties, but the only real food that's worth anything is Elsweyr Fondue (for the mages). Now we're getting useful stuff! It would certainly help those who do not dabble in Alchemy to gain some of the same benefits as potion-makers.

The entire description on the site

"

With this official add-on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, youcan purchase land and build your own home from the ground up - from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter’s workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children.
? Choose Your Land - Choose from property in the salt marshes of Hjaalmarch, the forests of Falkreath, or the vast tundra of The Pale. For the more ambitious landowner, purchase multiple plots and start building a real estate empire.
? Customize Your Home –Expand your home with a variety of room combinations including an armory, alchemy tower, kitchen, trophy room and more. Grow plants in your new greenhouse, cultivate slaughterfish in the fish hatchery, house your Arcane Enchanter in the enchanting tower, or display your latest conquest in the trophy room. Add additional features like stables, mills, smelters, gardens and more.
? New Objectives and Interactions – Guard your home from unwanted visitors like marauding kidnappers, armed bandits, and skeever infestations. Turn almost any follower into your personal steward to improve and protect your home. Or if you require more help, hire a personal bard or carriage driver to ease the burdens of home ownership.
? Adoption – Transform your house into a home with Hearthfire’s all-new adoption system. Adopt children and discover new ways to interact with your family. Play games with the kids, allow them to have pets and gain new bonuses from having a family."

I am curious as to the extent on how big you van make your houses. Also will they look different and unique compared to the current structures currently within the game.

i am wondering the same thing. to be honest, i have a bad feeling they will all look the same.

i have a theory about adopting children, during the dark brotherhood quest line, there is a mission called "Innocence Lost" were you have to Assassinate the Keeper of the Riften Orphanage. How about after you have completed the quest, the orphange actually becomes available to the player and you are aloud to adopt children from there and maybe every 2 game weeks the orphange replenishes its "child stock" for more variation of children ???? NOTE: Just a Theory, NOT Official yet.

Amazing how speculation creeps into a "Compilation of KNOWN Info" thread! :lmao:

(Note: Not aimed at anyone, I just find it amusing how fast threads like this get threadjacked with speculation instead of facts.)

Can we get hearthfire for free? You know the people that have been patiently waiting for any news on dawnguard for the past two months. It's only five bucks, and I'm sure it would be a drop in the bucket, considering however much money microsoft gave you to make Dawnguard an exclusive. That would bring me back.

You can also add that you cant build anywhere within these three holds, seems like many believe you can.
I asked Gstaff and he said it were set locations. So 1 place to build your house on on each of these three holds.

Though it said in trailer you can buy multiple "plots" of lands implying more than one location?

Yes, to add on to the basic plot you already brought. You need more land for a bigger house, yes?

That would be really, really stupid.

It would make much more sense if we could buy in different holds. Once you buy your plot of land, you won't need to buy more land to expand the house.

Don't tell me, tell the developers.

As it stands now, there are three known locations you can buy. There may be more, but until the DLC comes out, all we have is what has been revealed. *shrug*

I thought that one of the achievments was "Own all three lots" or something like that? Some people have found what the achievments were.

Maybe you tell your steward, 'I killed a giant on the other side of Skyrim. Be a dear and bring it here so I can stuff and mount it.'
