Falkreath is too far from everything, even though the spot is okay (just kill the conjurer, seriously).

I think it's more or less about how much of an immersion breaker it is to have your kids running around playing in the yard right next to a corpse and a magical necromancy altar. :D
Same with building your house next to a bunch of giants.

"Ah! Dead body!"

And this. That alone, if they spam that phrase, is enough to make the property value go down severely.

They have to learn about necromancy at some point

The giants are a bit weird although they make for some good guard dogs...

Oh, one thing I love: they've included MILK! I am now a proud milk drinker!

I still have yet to buy Hearthfire either. Need me some microsoft points.

But anyway, I just want snow. There is literally plenty of open spots that I have come across in the actual Pale itself, perfect spots. I just want plains full of snow, which is something I expect from reading "build houses in the Pale". I will just wait and see if I can settle with the location when I get Hearthfire. If not, I guess I will be stuck living in the ugly marshes in Hjaalmarch.

But marshe are cool, but not as cool as the tundra.

I'd rather have it on one of the icebergs. That would be cool.
