Dawnguard Pricing [merged similar topics]

I thought it was well worth it. I love my vampire castle, getting ambushed by noobish dawnguard, and dealing with vampire attacks in local cities.

This. After playing it, I thought it was well worth the money. If you look hard enough, you'll notice quite a lot of small changes that really make the immersion better. Plus the new quests, areas, weapons, armours are absolutely brilliant. Did I mention new shouts?

They 'could' add snow elves but that would break the way they do their DLC, its an addition to the game that you can keep playing with youre character, new advetures new places ect.

They added Snow Elfs in the new DLC. You actually get to the talk to one.

I'm kinda sitting on the fence on this. One one hand, I don't think there was enough content to justify the £17.00 (Had to get 2000MSP) price tag.
However on the other hand, I felt that I enjoyed Dawnguard, and was well worth the price.

Well no one buys the points for full retail do they?, I bought some in the Jubilee offers so it was like $13, converted from British Pounds mind you. Surely twenty hours of gameplay has to be worth $13, full game here was discounted to $31 at launch so it's not as awesome a price as the game itself but still more than worth it.

I look at it a different way, I don't just see that there's xx amount of new missions and that's it, for me it introduces two new plays types Vampire Lords and much improved Werewolves so I'm going to get many hours from it by playing those two builds in the main game.

^yeah supposedly the content of Dawnguard, like 30 hours or so (granted if you do EVERYTHING)....is longer than Bethesda's upcoming game Dishonored....now that's saying something
Bethesda game studios isn't developing Dishonored.

I agree it should have been 15 dollars. Luckily the DLC came out early due to a deadline but this knife cuts both ways. I would have gladly waited until july or august for a DLC with more meat on it. Here are the things I wish Dawnguard had

1.) You can Marry Serena

2.) Be able to Upgrade the Balcony, Undercroft, second docks, courtyard to get rid of rubble, chapel, all blocked doorways, both of the the towers, pretty much everything

3.) Be able to turn followers into vampires and have them join Castle Volkihar

4.) Hire guards to protect the castle

5.) Longer MG

6.) Once you reach stage four vampirism you look like one of those bat vampires like Feran

I agree it should have been 15 dollars.

So that's a difference of 5 USD. no offense but that's peanuts.

One thing I notice is this DLC has a lot of extensive dialogue in it, much more than the quests in the main game I think

I don't know what were expecting. Is this the simple case of "it must have a land mass almost as big as Skyrim."? Not going to happen if that's the case. I've paid 800msp for DLC that just add a bit of content...story line. Nothing else. And that's usually the standard, unless the DLC is only 30 minutes or so long. Then we're talking 240 most likely. 520 for something that's about 2-4 hours long. Or just 800 (sometimes 1200) for a brand new game that lasts about 4-6 hours. Or 1600 for some that last a little longer (multi-player....oooo). Minecraft the exception, not the rule.

Put that into perspective.

The story line alone is about 10-15 hours, for one faction. All of the added stuff they put into the base game? All of the features that came with the DLC? Plus the replay vaule you can get of of this, as all TES players like to do, roleplay wise? It's a fair deal.

Btw, do i need to mention 320 for an avatar item... An we're questioning the value of this DLC. /facepalm

^This.

I STILL haven't finished the main quest on the Dawnguard side, even though someone last night told me I had 1 more quest to go, then it's finished. Not true. I played more of the main quest and I still have some to go. I'm really starting to question the people that are complaining, if they even payed attention to the DLC? I have sunk over 20 hours into this SO FAR. I still have a side quests I'm doing and probably still got more to do. There was more to this DLC then what the main quest offers. I'm still seeing NEW random encounters in the world, just when I thought I seen all of the new random encounters, a new one popped up. I also got a kick *** item from a certain cool and lengthy side quest with an achievement. I have yet to see the new areas, still. Well worth my 1600 points. I don't care about how the main quest story "sums up", I play TES for the adventure, the content, not just the "story".

Well if people do not like the price, do not buy it. You will not ever get anyone else selling it to you, so you can forget about shopping around for a better deal at least for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. I thought it was worth the price personally, but then I am a Skyrim fan and do not mind paying for some more Skyrim to play.

I think the problem with this dlc, and the whole game is that all the main quests and guilds just dont have the depth of morrowind or oblivion. i mean i got to the end of the game head of each faction and all the npcs may say is dragonborn you vanquished a great foe, i mean come on does none of the other stuff even matter; anyways i digress i was just hoping that dawnguard would bring some depth into the game with some real sense of achievement and i think it really fell a bit flat 1600 ms points just not sure its worth it.

$3 for the sci fi original movie and $12 for werewolf perks, vampire lord shenanigans, crossbows, and a companion who at least has a few things to say. $5 for the rest of the stuff.

I know im going to catch a lot of hate for this but i dont think dawngaurd should have cost 20$. I expected a lot more content then what we got. dont get me wrong the story was alright but i still liked the thieves guild story the most. And the crossbow is horriable, actually the only new weapon i absolutely love is the drogonbone bow, that bow is sick. maybe dawngaurd will grow on me but as far as im concerned this dlc drop wasnt worth 20$. Kind of wish i would have saved my money and put it towards borderlands 2. hopefully other skyrim dlc will add more races or armor and maybe even raise the level cap. but these are just my opinions,

The level cap doesn't need to be raised.
