On topic though it is a very Warrior/Vampire centric DLC. Only very minor Mage content added to the game.
theres a big variety of mage oriented standing stones, such as the apprentice stone. The right mix can make u pretty broken... so dont know why you would say that...
And not every game or dlc could accomplish YOUR tastes....be patient and perhaps in the future we could have a mage focused dlc....and people that would complain for that on the net of course
Like I said I wasn't complaining, do you even bother reading the OP? Honestly....
Ok make your mind up. Either it is great, or it svcks. It can't be both at the same time.
It svcks for me since I'm a mage but othewise its a great DLC. How about you actually read the OP instead of the title? I guess ignorance is bliss afterall.
I'm def sure there will be a mage centered DLC, Beth has had MANY complaints about the magic system of Skyrim and no spell creation ruining it. I'm sure they will hear the players, because Dawnguard brought what many players wanted, better vampires and werewolfs and it delivered very well.
Destruction magic is in a much bigger need than the previous werewolf vampire problems.
I completely agree with you. Vampire and Werewolves are just extras to a build. Now you can play the whole game as these two, which maybe overpowered, but it's great for roleplay. Destruction is a magic school and is prob the most centered magic school for most mages and isn't NEARLY as powerful as it should be. Spell creation is what ruined magic for me, this is why I want it added.
for me. Dawnguard is an excellent DLC for lots of people, the quests were great and well over 20 hours for me.
But it has nothing for me, for me anyway.
I could care less about Auriel's bow, I'm a mage I'm never going to use it.
I'm a mage and I'm not being a vampire so I joined the Dawnguard.
Funny thing is, you get super awesome dragonbone weapons, and armour and crossbows. You also get a few measly spells that only hurt vampires, and a few conjuration spells. No new mage clothes or any updates to magic really.
Dawnguard is great, just not for me, honestly not for any mage looking for anything special.
Auriel's bow, crossbows...its good for archers though.
Not complainin' just sayin'.
those restoration spells hurt ALL undead, that includes draugr too. not just vampires.
The ring of erudite on the Vampire side is an amazing item for a mage.
(+100 magicka and +100 magicka regen)
And that helps people that dont want to be evil how? this game already lacked enough good things to do, and now i am forced to be a vampire in order to get any decent magic stuff, ill just loop enchanting and alchemy to make that item, easy enough.
Use your brain, why would I want to be warrior or make new characters from the one where i got 70+ hours on? I'm not making a new character for a DLC and being a mage is the only character for me.
I agree there could have been new robes or something for mages. However my mage is a great vampire lord and I like it.
