The cheats for that game were the greatest cheats ever implemented in a game. So freakin fun to see those dino dudes vomit to death from unlimited poison arrows.

New Age gaming sounds like something involving astrology and incense.

Games companies have always been in the business of making money. That's what businesses do. There was no golden age of game dev altruism.

Agreed. It's a shame this generation will be remembered as the Call of Duty one. The worst gaming gen by far.

I usually go for the 'Nintendo'-kind of games anyway. The philosophy behind these kind of games in general seems to differ a lot from the Playstation/Xbox games; whether it's a different target audience, or a different starting point I don't know.

May I ask why they changed the Fire Temple theme? As well as the star and crescent symbols?

Forgot about Guardian Heroes. Most fun I ever had in a side-scroller. {Spoiler} http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/629692-guardian-heroes/60623275.

The Fire Temple theme had Islamic chanting, something along the lines of "There is no God but Allah, who is the greatest of all." Needless to say it became controversial because people care way too much, and it's for the same reason the crescent and star was removed. It's a little sad.

Remember Banjo-Kazooie

And what a nightmare the series became when big multi-million dollar corporations got their hands on it

I played some old games a few months back. It was amazing how most of them aged horribly.

Besides a select few of the bigger name titles I became bored with everything else within 30 minutes.
