Of course not! The whole apocalypse and horrid conditions and low survival rate wouldn't contribute to stress, so no one would have six! Crazy talk.

Haha, we don't have to have six or anything in the game, just thought I'd build on your point.

I don't want to sound like there was nothing I enjoyed about Fallout 3, since it was a really impressive game. But I'm fairly passionate about the Fallout series and there were two major things I didn't like about the game:

The writing didn't always make sense in the context of the world, some of the dialogue and quest options seemed forced, and the consequences didn't always make sense. (Tenpenny Tower's idea of not always having a good choice is fine in theory, but it wasn't executed convincingly, and since it was the only quest to try it, it ended up feeling really dis-synergistic with every other quest in the game.) Also, dialogue could often feel like it was trying too hard to live up to the first two installments, instead of feeling natural to the game world.

Not being able to kill children was the other thing. Don't get me wrong, I have no desire to roam the wasteland wantonly killing children. I can readily understand Bethesda's decision in this regard - right up until I get to Little Lamplight and Mayor MacCready threatens to "blow [my] [censored] head off." When someone stands between me and my next objective in the main storyline, and threatens me with physical violence, I expect to be able to respond in kind if I so choose. It could just be that they made the decision about children late in development and couldn't do much to change Lamplight, but it remains one of the most glaring annoyances in the game for me.

Secondary concerns include the repair system (mostly the general dependence of most player characters on the Repair skill.) Adding NPCs with better repair capabilities would go a long way here, and Zeta's repair goo was a good idea as well.

With Power Armor as strong as it was in the first two Fallouts, I was fairly disappointed with its final implementation, particularly because of how late you got training (prior to Anchorage and Pitt). The game really built up the desire to be able to wear it, but by the time you could it just wasn't worth it. It really felt like something that could be allowed to be somewhat overpowered.

Finally, food and drink simply weren't compelling options, since they healed for so little and irradiated you, and Stimpacks and beds weighed nothing and were so easily found.

For all the complaints people have about the DLC, it's been an interesting evolution to watch. Bethesda has really come a long way from horse armor, and I'm looking forward to see their progression in that department after New Vegas comes out.

A lot of things bothered me, little irritants that really didn't diminish the quality or fun factor of the game but I wished could be fixed and/or changed. However, I haven't played in months so I forget a lot of them. Here are some I remember:

-Quest compass: What a pain in the ass
-Unrealistic gore: If you shoot someone in the leg, its rather unlikely their leg comes off looking like it was cut off with a razor. Also, if you shoot someone in the arm, its very unlikely they will die instantly, or continue to attack you with said arm like it doesn't bother them.
-Unrealistic reactions: If you have a reputation for being a badass killer, wouldn't it make sense that if you threatened someone that they would run? And not attack or ignore you?
-Predictable enemy actions: They all either run at you and shoot, or run at you and try to maul your face. Let's see some tactics here.
-Stapled enemies: It was always either super mutants, ghouls or raiders. Enemies need more variation.

Can't remember anything else.

It was mostly little things about the game that bothered.

1.) Sleep had very little impact in the game while food and water had none at all; why include so much food and beverages and not a hunger and thirst mechanic? This is one of things I want in RPGs like Fallout that I miss from the old Eye of Beholder game.

2.) Sprinting; could have been so very useful.

3.) VATS; was useful but dumbed down too much. I want the option to VATS snipe a raiders balls off damn it! Or hit their eyes...which with a gun it might as well be a head shot (minus any helmet).

4.) Too much of everything; basically I was never strapping for any sort of material be it ammunition, medical supplies, or weapons and armour. [censored] is supposed to be scarce; with the exception of common post-war items, pre-war stuff should be hard to aquirre.

5.) Dogmeat; in that you didn't get the option of improving him in some way. Be it genetically, mechanically, or a simple set of canine armour. Would have helped out his durability issue a whole lot.

6.) The weapons; the unique and common models looked exactly the same and degraded too quickly, though the degradtion rate makes sense (200+ years old stuff and all with proper maintenance far in between, or not at all) it became very annoying to carry around several busted copies of a gun to keep the one you're using in good condition.

7.) The repair mechanic; not the mechanic itself but in its very uninmaginative implementation. For example you should have been able to use a workbench and your repair and weapon skills to repair a weapon, or break one down into its component parts to repair another. And use tools and parts to make repairs when no workbench is available.

8.) No weather; this bugged me a lot. Oblivion had weather, so why not FO3?! I want dust storms and radioactive rain; oh and snow, since it was implied that winters can be harsh on the East Coast.

9.) The Power Armour; instead of being all but invincible to all but Death Claws and guys with energy weapons I was still going down to raiders armed with hunting rifles and .32 revolvers! Sure, it had been for balance issues but sometimes balance needs to be chucked out a window.

10.) It was Fallout but it didn't quiet FEEL like Fallout; sure it brought back a lot and improved on it, somewhat, but it didn't feel like it. Don't quiet know why.

Vehicles would have been of little use; the terrain is simple too broken up and...uneven in most places, plus despite the size of the area it was actually still quiet small, too small to warrant something like a Humvee. A motorcycle would have made sense, they're used by raiders and such and all, but there was no need to let the player use one.

The ending, I liked it, almost brought a tear to my eye. It was touching, and I didn't mind with the game ending then and their since I had already done everything else there was to do in the game. This was before any of the DLCs mind.

The NPC expressions were limited, I agree fully on this. Happy, pissed, and stoic pretty much sums up the FO3 NPC range of emotions.

Hard as hell to play on the PC; not in difficulty but in that it never runs smoothly. This could be because of my graphics card, which is starting to die, but I've heard all sorts of complaints. Luckily, the 360 version never gave me trouble, aside from eventual boredom due to a lack of mods.

No vehicles and little/no melee/hand2hand special moves. Would have been nice to be able to have kicks, tackles, etc., but then again, this isn't UFC. Also, I felt the lack of vehicles to be TOTALLY inappropriate and nigh-unforgivable, what's the post-apocalypse without the post-apocalypse-mobile!

Before I sound off let me first reiterate that after much modding I'm am a huge fan of Fallout 3. That being said there were several major issues I had while playing that I just could not overlook.

The first and foremost complaint I had was the implementation of SPECIAL. In previous fallouts these stats didn't simply dictate your combat potential and success rates in tasks, they literally dictated how the world reacted to you. An INT of 1 literally meant you couldn't speak proper english! A high CHA opened up totally new dialogue options which could also be dependent on GENDER. The original developers really accomplished the feeling that life just isn't the same for everybody depending on how smart they were, good they looked, well they talked, strong they were, etc. Depth of character was an extremely important aspect of the previous games and in 3 it was sorely lacking. I couldn't create "me" as a vault dweller, only a cookie cutter assembly line version who's experience in the game varied little from the next character I created. To this day I will NEVER forget the first time my idiot savior from Fallout 2 met the dumb brute in the first town and underneath their inane grunts and snorts were captions that translated their dialog from simple sounds to hilariously sophisticated english!

My second complaint was the incredibly linear way that quest completion was handled. Again referring to the previous games, most quests could be accomplished in at least three different ways and not all of them involving violence. Need to take care of that rich man who controls the land? You could A. Run in Guns a Blazin', B. Talk him into seeing your point of view, C. Bribe the old fool, or D. Sneak into his room when he's sleeping and sabotage his oxygen tank with a ton of Jet, OD'ing him and causing his "accidental" death. In Fallout 3 it seemed like you either talked with your gun, or your mouth, but nothing else. No fancy tricks or variation, just being the man with the bigger gun with more bullets sufficed most of the time. You want unforgettable? Having invested so much speech that you sacrificed most combat skills just so you could walk up to The Master and literally convince him that "he's just wrong."

Third. Unkillable kids? A complete neutering of the sixual innuendo that permeated the worlds of 1 and 2? The lack of memorable dialogue that makes you wanna "roflmao" C'mon! These may have seemed like tertiary "flavor" aspects of the originals but they shaped the world of fallout and created the expectation that these elements weren't just optional, but required! Those little rat bastards in the Den paid dearly for pickpocketing live armed dynamite from my inventory yessiree! And I will NEVER forget how grateful Vic, Cassidy, and Marcus especially were to me for the great times I "bought" them in New Reno! And of course that lead to the whole "We aren't sterile who told you that bull" conversation from Marcus. And anybody who's played a female character and had the patience to try to talk to Myron will know what it means to see excellent dialogue worked into a game.

Now by all means, i don't mean to say that Fallout 3 was a bad game, far from it. I just was expecting certain elements that had been established as the definitive identifiers of the Fallout brand to be included and sadly they were not. This game was meant for mature audiences only, it should have been made for those mature audiences, and instead what we got was something that was "Made for mature folks but juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust in case a kid gets their hands on it......." sort of game.

That being said and off my chest, I would like to point out that yes.....I did ask "Whoa wtf happened to you!" to that ghoul in megaton. The ability to have that reaction to him cracked me up.

*edit* I forgot to mention the butt ugly faces all around. C'mon Beth, not ONE good looking girl or hot guy in DC after the bombs fall?!?! (unless modded)
