It's only "How to Train your Dragon" if you suddenly develop feels for your dragon, and you're a whiny, nerdy Nord.
I'm saying that dragons shouldn't be tamed no matter what, the only time you should be on the back of a dragon is when your trying to hack it's head off. But seeing as how your possibly going to be able to tame yourself a dragon and keep it as a pet then it becomes more of a " How to train your dragon " thing.
I have the lore-hope explanation that werebears are just extinct and that is the cause of why there are noone present. Perhaps the good companions, hunting as a pack of werewolf anihilated them. I have hopes on that, despite I hate werewolfs.
That'd be nice, but a few things weren't put in the game or explained why through NPC dialogue. Werebears are one and some missing towns are another... all are a apart of some lore.

Yes, but well, better a late explanation that a never explanation. In this case, a fan-made uncredited theoretical explanation
It'll likely be to fight the end boss in this DLC. The dragon will fly circles around the target and you get to attack from it's back with spells, ranged and perhaps melee weapons. Or maybe npc's will jump on the dragon you're riding and you have to fight them off. Something like that. I don't really believe it will be for actual flight in the Skyrim world. It's simply not designed for it.

You rode Odahviing. He wasn't happy about it, but it happened anyway. It's less about taming, and more about "I'm more powerful than you, so you're my *****."
You share a SOUL with a dragon. You are basically a DRAGON. So, how is it taming them? It's more like "Hey bro, I need a ride, and my car is broke down"

I hae my doubts Beth will play it that way, more then likely you will end up befriending a dragon ( or end up using Odahviing ). Either way my guess is that you and the dragon you can ride will be on good terms and not the " being the Dragon borns [censored] " theory you mentioned.

That's how it was with Odahviing, remember. I don't think there's really such a thing as "good terms" with a dragon. There's only stronger and weaker.

Just because you have the soul of a dragon doesn't mean jack.... If anything it makes you competition for the dragons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxJg7Gyxvhg
If Odahviing was unhappy, why did he approach you afterwards and offer to help you any time you need?
Because you're more powerful than he is. You are the new alpha dragon. Remember, the only reason Odahviing helped you was because you trapped him in Dragonsreach. He swore his fealty to you.

Very true. They could try adding in some dialogue between Vilkas and Kodlak complaining about the Silver-Hands and they mention that "at least we got rid of those damn werebears" or something.

No my friend, Odahviing had no choice but cooperate all because you had him by the scales. If he wasn't in that situation he would have either fought the dragon born or ran.

Or in the "worst case" , the mere existence of Maiq the Lier is for this kind of stuff . A line to him, perhaps "Maiq was told of ancient werebears. Not anymore in skyrim, the werewolfes ate them"

What? That's what I just said. You made Odahviing your *****.
