Ps3 Impressions.

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 5:41 am

I am writing this post to address all the worried people out there anticipating the game but also worrying about the spread of rumors stating how inferior the Ps3 version is. I just received Skyrim today and I have only played for about 4 hours now, so this isn't concrete, but I have really enjoyed myself so far but i'll get the bad news over with. Within the first 4 hours I have had three crashes, one to xmb and the other two I had to do a hard reset. This may just be me after all but I thought it should be known. Other than that one fault everything else runs smooth. Load times aren't so long, good framerates, graphics look great, render distance is quite impressive as well. Hopefully the crashing will be addressed if it is a problem for the masses and not just me, but if you did buy it for Ps3 I wouldn't worry, I'm still having a blast! =) If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Ouch... I constantly CTD with Oblivion (PC) and was hoping Skyrim wouldn't be so minor league. Wonder if xbox users are having this happen?

Lol. You have an xbox, but you have texture problems. It's not a problem installing to the HDD either. If you enter the menu on 360, once you back put, textures go low res.

People seem to auto-assume THEIR problems is a problem with the entire brand. I haven't had, or heard of any problems that are being duplicated by a mass amount of people.

He said the game ran smoothly except for three crashes which some people have probably had on the Xbox.

I own a 360 as well but I prefer the Ps3 for the controller, its just personal preference. I've heard about the texture issues on xbox so neither are bug free, and as I stated I am just informing everyone about my experience, who knows if this is a problem with the game or just my Ps3 itself. I havn't played it in 4 months so there are too many variables to assume its the game itself until others have the same issue.

*shocked*

What kind of hands do you have?

PS3 has to be one of the most uncomfortable contollers ever.

I bought a Batterang controller because of the issues i've had with the ergonomics.

I must have to be able to play. Ps3 requires updates before you can play I believe. I can check the version if you want, but I am sure I had at least one patch. I honestly don't remember two.

This game is seriously awesome though, the world is quite immersive. The environments just look natural and the dungeons, each unique. I havnt seen too much copy paste and if it is it's redecorated. The towns feel real and the wildlife is gorgeous. The underground streams lead to a source, a hole in the top of the cavern with warm light seeping in giving a brief break from the dark damp cavern you are crawling through. Don't get me started on the two handed magic. Never have I felt so pwn.

running perfectly

Probably not allowed to link to footage yet coz the official release date hasn't been reached, saying that it isn't leaked footage ;)

Looking at that PS3 footage in 720P and some of the comments, it seems as though the PS3 version of Skyrim might look a bit better and run smoother than the Xbox360 version? Of course Bethesda could never admit this because of the big deal they have going with Microsoft that has been running hot since Skyrim was announced but at least it is an indication that Bethesda have been working just as hard on the PS3 version!

No flaming please I am not trolling it is just my observation after watching 100's of vids!
