------------------------------------------------

It's new content for those specified platforms.

We're not getting into the specifics of what content is being released right now, but we are working on bringing content to PS3 and PC. It'll be content that's not already on those platforms.

To be clear, the tweet means there is new content for PS3 and PC users.

Mounted combat came within a title update. This is more than a title update.

No, not yet. But it is add-on content.
It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.

Gstaff, on 30 August 2012 - 06:52 PM, said:

Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard's status for PS3.

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1413248-ps3-release-for-dawnguard-thread-23/# to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

Additional information from Pete Hines in response to Dawnguard:

"Yes, it’s just doesn’t perform well in all scenarios. Some folks would be fine, some would not.”

One of Bethesda’s top PR execs, Pete Hines, (who holds the position of VP of PR and marketing), tweeted to a question that concerned the release date, saying, “No, we will not release it if we can’t get the performance to an ‘acceptable’ standard. Our stance on this has not changed.”

According to Gstaff http://www.bethblog.com/2012/10/04/hearthfire-available-on-steam/comment-page-1/#comment-278242:

Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:57 am:

We haven’t given up. We’re still working to see what’s possible.

Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 10:15 pm:

Our team is still working to make PS3 content available on PS and doing everything possible to make it a possibility.

Keeping with the conversation with Lord Vukodlak, I wasn't getting worried really, just making an observation :) I have been playing other games as of late, so I'm not really in a rush to get the next patch, though once it's released I will be testing it with a new character, even if just for a few hours.

On to the DLC that the PS3 will be seeing.....I am curious as to what it is, and I do hope it will play nice with our systems, though I will be waiting for the reviews from fellow PS3 users before I make any more purchases from Bethesda.

Yeah GStaff said to Xbox users (the way I read it at least) that the Xbox patch is in cert.

So shouldn't be too long before we're told it's been rolled into 1.9...

Oh Gstaff, really? http://ozhouse.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/files/2012/09/double_facepalm.jpg

Thanks for getting our hopes up just to leave us in the dark again. I know it's not your fault because the people who code the game to the PS3 at Bethesda svck, but thankfully you're part of the PR crew so that is your job to take the flak.

I'm literally done. Bethesda has had long enough to get the issue resolved. Years and still they can't figure it out.

From a business standpoint Beth would be crazy not to make dg and hf work on the 3. After all the hours they have invested in them they can recoup a lot of cash if they can sell a few 100 k copies of each. That's millions of Septims sitting out there!

One positive thing is that Gstaff posted at least 3 or 4 times in the last thread. That, I think is unprecedented. I like the communication. Gstaff - I don't care if you have nothing new to report, it is encouraging when you post stuff like that. It lets us know that you are watching these forums. It tells us that our voices are not being ignored.

Now as far as content of information. Is it really that big of a sin to say... "We tentatively are saying December 11th for new content on PS3." I am pretty sure that if you said this, and weren't able to get it to us by the 11th, you wouldn't face the fallout you are getting from "no new info, no timeline, no specifics"

Something tells me the next game Bethesda releases won't get a fraction of the marketing push Skyrim received.
The only reason why they are stringing us along with lines like "we're still working on it", haven't released whatever they have for DLC (broken or not), and this whole situation has lasted longer than one year is because of all the attention they are getting from the media as well as the lies Pete HInes tweeted. Public damage control is the only reason they are pretending to care about the PS3 console.
If they are smart they will make a blog post about the next Fallout title, maybe one commercial to be ran twice, but that's it. Nothing else.
They did that with New Vegas, and didn't even have a marketing push for every other title, and they were allowed to happily ignore the anger from their PS3 customers. It's amazing what one can ignore when they do not have the media watching their every move.
Although, now the media will put their next title under a microscope if it comes out with a PS3 tag due to the cluster bomb that is and was Skyrim.
Bethesda has been pulling this "broken game stays broken" crap for the PS3 console for years. One marketing campaign and their world comes crashing down around their ears.

Gonna be that guy now. A lot of ppl were high-fivin' and such when the last statement was made after the Dragonborn trailer went up. Some of us were various degrees of skeptical and cautioned against false hope. Or let me rephrase, premature hope. I do hope maybe all the happy juice that will get passed about the next time a 'tidbit' of info is floated, will maybe have a few grains of salt that ppl will pay attention to.

Not lumping DTF into the 'ridiculously-over-optimistic' front by any means, just his post reminded me of that ilk and their assurances that the wait for any resolution of this ongoing fail was over, based solely on what's shown itself to be yet another version of 'we're still working on it!"

And again, even though i do not approve of the rehashes of nothing that Gstaff is forced to give us, i do approve of the messenger. That man is actually wading in when he can to field what questions he is allowed to. Mad props to Gstaff.

Ole Tweet could not be bothered to do anything similar and its in his frickin' job description. How many times has Hines said ANYTHING while not hiding behind his totally inappropriately tasked personal/Work twitter feed? How many times has Hines even stepped foot in the forums over all of this? Oh that's right, ZERO on both counts.

I think someone should have a few more initials added to his title and have his sphere of influence at Bethesda widened and someone else should be given a cheap Timex and shown the damn door....

It is terrible and reflects badly on the company that their "forum and blog guy" does way more in terms of PR than the guy that got hired to be the PR rep. It is also really stupid that apparently no one in the company speaks with each other about what they are working on. How else would one explain the "we don't have any new information" line?
The PR staff for companies that actually care would be running non stop if they were in the same situation. What we get is a guy that would rather tweet about soccer than doing his actual job.

Now that I think about it, other companies would be doing some serious kissing up after it hit them that they are losing millions of potential customers when they release their next product. They would be talking of discounts, special offers, or some kind of carrot on a string to keep us as customers. For some, even a free t-shirt would be enough. Not for me, but for some. Quick, someone do the math and figure out how much Bethesda stands to lose if even half of their PS3 customers refuse to buy the next title. They say they watch these forums (yeah, sure they do), maybe if they had an actual number with a dollar sign next to it to look at they will realize what kind damage they are doing to their own company.

If Dawnguard is fixed and the new downloadable content they are refering to is Dawngaurd for the PS3. Then I would guess it will be released soon before Dragonborn is released. Maybe in the Thanksgiving week. Or maybe tommorw on friday....

Why should they kiss up, they are not losing any cuatomers, there are still plenty people here in this topic, when they annonced that supposed ps3 content , almost half of users went from Bad Bethesda to bethesda is the greatest company, in short media don't care, users don't care so why should bethesda care? Everyone will buy fallout 4 or TES 6 maybe not on ps3 but they will still buy it.

Well as big as Skyrim was, i'd say pretty much all of Bethesda's PS3 customers would have bought their next title....if things had gone better. So let's start with ~4 million as Beth's PS3 customer base. So if 50% of PS3'ers evaporate we are down to 2 million and at $60 a pop that is(gross) $120 million instead of $240 million.

And i honestly think 50% PS3 customer retention is pretty optimistic.

Yes, the overly optimistic ones really got me tilting my head and wondering, why? There was a sliver of communication and that was it, and it was vague at best but it was more than anything they've said since the beginning of August and really the first update since then. When it came out, I was still skeptical but I turned it down a notch because maybe, just maybe they would be keeping up some weekly tabs on their progress since it seems like they've made some, but the reality of it is that they just said they are going to get it out. Didn't say when it would be, how long it might take to finish, etc etc. So really, it was string-along comments at best. They are successful though, because quite a few have been strung along.

Is Sony updating the store or just PSNs online stuff? They had a PSN mantinence the other day. If their updating the store then it is highly probable that they are expecting new DLC. Maybe for Skyrim...

Bethesda was rocking a sentiment like yours for years. Incidentally its what got them here in this colossal fail of a situation in the first place.

That maintenance was for the changes that have been made to the PSN store recently.

The downtime is often because they are uploading new content to Playstation Home or doing some maintenance, nothing to do with the store.

Me thinks, you all should wait until the "Dragonborn" exclusivity wears off before getting a new "tweet" from beth. Because now you don't even get updates, you get an encrypted super secret line in a beta update and vague tweets. Don't you all feel special?
