Rage 2 not yet confirmed

Post » Thu Aug 09, 2012 11:04 am

Fact; No plans for RAGE 2 at this time...get over it. RAGE 2 is not confirmed.

People need to confirm in reality before they get peoples hopes up otherwise it all looks pretty silly.

Carmack just said at QuakeCon there will be a Rage2.
I'm wathching QuakeCon live

Although, I'm not surprised, I don't get why anyone had doubt :P
Before Rage1 shipped they said there would be a Rage2.

....why posting Rage 2 is confirmed ?

What Carmack said was he really wanted to jump right back into developing Rage 2 to correct all the mistakes they made in the original. While that's certainly a good indication id wants to do Rage 2, he also said they needed to focus on Doom 4 and paying the bills for now.

Well allrighty then, no "official" confirmation.
When they do "officially" confirm, it will mean nothing to me, lol, I just know there will be a Rage2.

I've watched to complete keynote now and what Carmack said didn't sound like there's a Rage 2 coming but just that they want to do it.

There are a couple more games I'd rather see from id before RAGE2. They are: first and foremost, before ANYTHING else, DOOM4. And then after that, they could get to work on a QUAKE5, a remake of the original Quake, not strogg. And then, a new WOLFENSTEIN game. This time with much more levels taking place in the castle. More levels with stone brick walls and nazi pictures and fancy chandeliers.

Like Jimmy Shelter said there is no Rage 2.
I get the feeling they might work on Rage when it's too late just like Doom3.
Is it a good idea to spend time and money on Doom3? Hope I am wrong.
My big hope is Doom4 indeed :-)

stuff Doom and stuff Quake. The only game they've made that interests me is Rage. At that they are marketing really badly. How come Borderlands can be so successful yet Rage isn't

Innovation, shooter, co-op, progression.
Kinda "ageless" theme,
Also I think new youth likes it, come on, its that damn bagged pants generation who likes comics and [censored] and Justin Bieber...

Really think Borderland is winner.

matter of opinion.

The whole lore and feeling of Rage feels much better. The game flows much better as well (until it suddenly ends)

Comics have been around since the olden days, and since then, the youth have always been into them. Comics have nothing to do with this generation.
I agree on the other two though...

I'd like a Quake5 and a new, actual Wolfenstein title from id as well, but after getting Rage I want a Rage2. I don't want to wait so long before seeing what they do with Rage. The first being full of flaws is just more reason for me to be anxious about what they'll do for the sequel... I just overall hate waiting so long for them to make a sequel of anything

Arent they doing Stalker MMO.

I know, but I think older people doesnt care them so much, anyway comics are real nerd-factor and if that isnt good in game world what is if your game got it.

Borderland could hit the right audience in the right way... and maybe even right time.

Vynzent, i definitely like your optimism towards the future release of Rage 2, though unfortunately from what Carmack said its hard to say whether or not that will be the case. But DAMN IT I SURE HOPE SO! The graphics, fluid movement, gunplay, design, concept and most of all the overall atmosphere of Rage was amazing and made the game very captivating. I, like many others, was very dissapointed with the ending and the small amount of content and customization. However, like Carmack said, it only makes sense to take what they managed to make very well in Rage and create a Rage 2 with obvious improvements and overall expansion, versus starting from scratch and attempting to create a great game from the ground up all over again. Apparently they recognized there are major positives in Rage, and hopefully they will build on that... i mean seriously, WHY WOULDNT THEY?! i hope their team is reading our desperate cries for Rage 2, they proved to us with the release of Rage that they have the ability to create the game we're all dying to play... so get crackin on Rage 2 as soon as you release your precious Doom 4! A lot more guns, enemies that vary more in difficulty, more interaction within the wastelands, multiple armor pieces that benefit your character in different ways, a lot more character customization overall, etc. cmon id, we know you can do it. PLEASE?!

Well, older people aren't the target for them anyway, because of money. There are way less old people than young people.
Comics also have no connection to being a nerd, lol, the supidest people read them too, because they reach out to various interests.
I guess you don't know anything about comics because you don't read them :P

On topic here, I DO want id to focus on Doom4 the moment as well, and only Doom4, it's just that now I'm also thinking afterward. I am now a Rage fan too... though it was a bumpy road.

http://penny-arcade.com/report/editorial-article/tim-willits-talks-doom-4-john-carmack-and-what-id-learned-from-skyrims-laun

Why the hell Tim thinks that people missunderstood what Rage was all about??? Every fan knew what to expect!!!
The only thing they forgot to mention in adv. campaign is that there going to be a crappy ending and complete linearity!!!!!
They still seem not to understand the real problems that damaged Rage!
