They only track B&M sales, not Steam, Impulse, Amazon GMG, DD..... and many more, meaning they only register about 5% of the actual PC sales.

First of all, vgchartz have never been a reliable source. And second, the game have to sell alot more than that to even getting close to any kind of profit concedering the costs for 5-6 year development time.

Correction:
Two of the Top Five Games selling (in America);

Ranked second place for Xbox 360 and fifth place for PS3.

Is that actual sales, or just the number of units shipped (yet again). Thanks again M$ for inventing that great ploy! Many software companies, across all types (not just game) now claim all shipped units as sales. That makes their software sound really cool, so we all act like lemmings and take the jump. Sure there are bragging rights at the top, but players do not get those, the company does. I just wanted to point out that sales numbers usually are not exactly true from anyone. Even though direct downloads have the most reliable number possible (as it can never be inflated with shipping numbers), even Steam has been known to make a 'mistake' or two (though they never explain how).

These are sales number not unit shipped. They probably shipped 2-3 mil 360 rage copies and sold 400 000 already.

In which case they're about a million short of that with JUST Xbox 360. They've made money, and in my opinion, they deserved it.

Keep in mind, those numbers are from the first week.

The second week numbers have not yet been published except for US/Canada sales (excludes Europe and Japan):

Xbox 89k
PS3 44k
PC retail (excludes digital downloads): 9k

http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/25459/rage/
http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/25457/rage/

Although we do not know how many digital downloads were sold, since these numbers are not published, RAGE has been the number one selling title on Steam for the past two weeks, and a recent report published by NVIDIA indicates PC digital download sales on the whole correspond to to approximately 600% of PC packaged retail disc sales.

Adding up all platforms as well as Europe/Japan sales for the second week it seems quite likely that the total copies sold has exceeded 1 million.
