Reactions when friends or others watch you play

Post » Fri Jul 27, 2012 1:08 pm

I get very specific reactions to things I do in the game when my GF is watching regarding jewels, bounties and killing dragons.
It actually adds to the game to have an audience sometimes.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

If there were people who actually wanted to hang out with me, I wouldn't at home playing Skyrim and Fallout so damn much.

I tried to get my gal to play Skyrim. She liked making her character, but she died during the Helgen attack. She doesn't know how to jump.

I agree, I love having people watch me play. Even though I always role play, I try to just keep it in my head and try to impressive those watching, like "Look I can kill a Dragon"!

Wow..I guess I am in the vast minoroity here. My GF asks to me to play Skyrim just so she can watch. She has all kinds of reactions based on wht my char is doing.
She seems endlessly entertained by my follower. I get her involved and ask her to make the choiecs for my char....what to say, where to go...etc.

Was switching armor on my character and my room mate went "Hey was that a boob?!"

I'm used to seeing a boob due to the cbbe body nvde mode and forgot when changing armor you can briefly be naked.

slightly awkward moment explaining yes that infact was a boob. he wasn't aware they existed in a game :D

Yeah... no, I don't have any interest in having an audience. My daughter will sit down sometimes and watch when I'm playing it on the Xbox. Then she cries out, "Don't kill that fox!" or "You better not kill that deer!" :D It's funny.

But when I'm playing on the PC she doesn't usually bother.

The boy will watch me and it is cool because he knows the game. A couple of his friends are also gamers and I enjoy their comments and opinions on various things. They usually don't stick around long, but the brief discussions are nice. My wife will comment on scenery and will watch as I travel through the country. But you let one freakin' wolf attack me and I kill it and she goes off about mistreating animals.

Because it's wrong to mistreatment animals of any kind. Even that gigantic bear with rabies.

cbbe nvde mods = boring.

I can't imagine any other way to better detract from the game.

OT: Most people tend to catch a few ZZZ's while I'm playing. I'll admit, it's neither ingaging nor interesting to watch.

Nothing I hate more than people watching me play a game. Make me feels nervous that I might do something stupid and they see.

Well my girlfriend hates watching and I don't like her watching either.

Not that experienced in skyrim yet but in fallout id kill someone, strip him/her of everything and get a machete out and hack off their limbs, I don't always do this. It's random. Or pick their heads up and stuff.
That's when I start getting funny looks and she asks me wtf do I think I'm doing. It freaks her out a bit. So when someone is watching I'll pretend not to do much until they clear off and I can relax again and do my wierd things lol

I think watching depends on the person. My GF has never played video games and so anything on the screen is a new world to her. She likes the interaction btn the char and the NPCs.
She hates it when I sell jewels.

And I only kill an animal if they attack me...and they usually do.

I always crack jokes when people watch me play. Like if someone's being a pain and distracting me from my game I'll randomly kill an animal, something cute like a fox or a rabbit, and peg its death on them. "You see that dead bunny? It's your fault it's dead. Poor, poor bunny. If only you'd left when I told you to, this tragedy could've been avoided. Look how cute the dead bunny is. It was even cuter when it was alive." And when my girlfriend watches me play, I'll poke fun at the games she likes to play by, say, spawning a bunch of cheese wheels and chasing after them going, "I'm Sonic! Wheee!" or morphing into a werewolf and saying, "Look at me, I'm playing Animal Crossing! Get it? Animal crossing? Like crossing into an animal?" (Playing Skyrim induces bad puns.) She thought she'd avoid all this by dating a girl. She was so wrong. *grins*
