Realism Realism Realism

People are always talking about the humour in the Fallout franchise, but I didn't see any of it in Fallout 3. Maybe Bethesda just svcked. I hope Fallout: New Vegas shows why people consider the series to be funny, especially as it is made by the original creators.
In FO3, apart from the occassional funny line (not very often) and the easter egg type thing you might see, I didn't see much humour at all.

Bethesda doesn't try very hard in humor, as you all notice all they do is copy/paste that same joke from every one of their games and paste it into their latest game. The proof: Adoring Fan from TES4 and Sticky in Fallout 3. Sometimes though, Bethesda have some pretty quality ideas no matter how badly executed they are (take The Pitt dlc for an example), and in other moments they just crack out awful ideas and claim it's "great" (mothership zeta).

What I hope Fallout New Vegas achieves is the level of realism the old Fallouts have (1 & 2) and not the level of realism Bethesda revealed in Fallout 3.

Hah hah. I think none of you actually understand what "realism" means in the context of this game and you should stop pretending.

I take offense to that. I think I understand Video Game realism quite well. As long as most of Isaac Newtons laws are observed, it's all peachy.

This is not a requirement for internal realism, and is not in fact being done in Fallout 3 or FO:New Vegas

I don't follow you. I pick something up and let it go, I falls down. It nudge something down a hill, it keeps going until it hits something, like say an incline in the path, or another object. I jump, I land on the ground. I get thirsty, I take a drink. I get hungry, I eat. I get tired, I sleep. I get injured badly, I limp.
As long as those things are met, I really don't need anymore realism internally.

Ever heard of a physics error? Like when a prop/ragdoll acts weird? Ya, uh, how does that affect your day? Gizmo means physics aren't THE most important thing in games, if that was true then the Source Engine would have been updated so much, when a pin drops you would say "I can't believe its its not butter not real life!"

And I'm saying that's really all the realism I need. And if i see a physics glitch, I laugh and take a picture.
