The Elves are weak and frail, I'd rather play as a Nord or Orc.

Brute force isn't everything. Most Mer are naturally gifted with magic and can perform protecting spells with ease. Well, there goes the weakness.

Technically, Orcs are elves.

Hell yeah, though I do prefer most of the voice actors from Oblivion, though there are some exceptions.

I think Altmer should have been taller and bosmer should have been shorter, that's my main complaint

...yeah, they really do look bad. Worse than that, they look -nothing- like the original concept art for the races. That's what annoys me.

when ever there is a thread about the Mer in Skyrim people always say how ugly they look and that Bethesda should have made them more human looking. But people seem to forget that there not humans there a completely different race in my opinion they look great they all have a more separated look about them like when you look at them you no that they are from a different part of the word. That's just my opinion but what's your do you like there new look are do not I'd love to hear your responses.

IMHO, the elven races are the more attractive races, and I find myself shunning all of the other races in favor of them. In Morrowind, I played Dunmer exclusively. In Oblivion, I played Dunmer exclusively. In Skyrim, My first two toons were Dunmer, and my current toon is a Bosmer (gasp!). They did make great steps in redesigning the Argonians and Khajit, and I will eventually get around to playing them as well... But the elves have always been my favorites...

I don't play a race for how pretty I can make it, so how would I know the mer races were ugly. I think they look great.

They aren't terrible, but I think there's a reason that some of the first mods on PC were to clean up people's faces, and give the women better bodies. Its hard to make an "attractive" person in skyrim, and many people want their characters to look good, like leading actors in a fantasy/action movie.

I don't get this one. I think the bodies in Oblivion and Skyrim (both genders) are alright. (Now, Morrowind is a bit different story... thankfully there's BB.)

The men all look old to me, and the women basically all have the same figures, the weight slider does very little. Its like on a scale from 1-10, the best you can do is like a 6.5. I look at a game like Soul Calibur IV where you can have a large degree of body types as the right way to do it.

They aren't terrible in Skyrim, they're just "meh"

Making really heavy characters would be interesting. But it's not really a problem with the bodies themselves, but with sliders.

They may be physically weaker, but the Dunmer and Altmer are gifted mages and the Bosmer make great archers.

I'm as much as in favor of someone making a fat dude as I am with someone making a woman with big boobs (not inhuman huge) and a perfect body. Give us the options to let us make what we want.

Options are great. Maybe in the future we will have a TES that uses Skyrim's character appearances, Oblivion's sliders and some more additions (body sliders).

The only thing that bugged me about the looks of the elven races were the garish klingon brows. All that were missing were forehead ridges.

Thankfully, there are mods for that since it's just a normal map effect.
