Restoration, pure Epic

Post » Sun Nov 04, 2012 11:32 am

Not sure how many people will care about this, not many I bet, but I have been playing on my latest character for a while now, and for the first time I made a character who uses restoration a lot. Like all of the perks in other words instead of just some, and I base my character around it, along with one handed, heavy armor, and block. He is a Paladin warrior. I had no idea how frikkin awesome restorationmagic was! I was doing the final mission in Mzulft (for spoilers sake, I wont say what it was) but if you know what I am talking about, you know how potentially annoying and awesome the fights were when done at a decent level.

I used my bane of the undead master spell against all the foes, hitting them all including the original each time he came back from

teleporting, using become ethereal to protect me from all of the unrelenting force shouts they shoot.
Then, the icing on the cake, was the awesome killcam that happens with the master spells. I wasnt expecting it, because it was restoration, which made it that much more awesome.

I wasn't expecting the spell to do so much damage to the undead on master, so that was a pleasant surprise.

I love this school of magic! Is it viable, paranoid chick in winterhold college? Yes, its one of the most viable schools of magic period.

Anyone else agree? I also love how powerful gaurdian circle is when dual wielded. Works very well with a paladin character, and this may be my favorite class.

Restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Colette Marence would be proud. Yeah restoration is probably my favorite school and the one I use most often. With the grand healing spell I can basically take loads of hits yet remain unscathed after healing my own and my followers' wounds.

Restoration is probably my favorite magic school. What makes it awesome is its versatility. It can be used for almost any situation.
Its the least recognized school but its also the most versatile and reliable school of magic.

Does casting healing spells on the undead hurt them? Best thing I ever found out ff10 was casting a healing spell on the undead instantly killed weaker creatures and seriously wounded tougher ones.

Restoration is a school of magic that can benefit nearly any build in Skyrim. Rarely do I make a character and mot use it in some form.

Dawnguard did nothing but increase my love for the skill. New, awesome spells with interesting effects? Hell yes. Maybe not completely innovative or new, but their implimentation completed the 'Paladin' feel for me.

Not from what I've seen but it should be. The majority of games I played has healing spells doing that.

Update: It may be too powerful. The

brothers that were supposed to appear and get whooped by the father appeared as ash instead, and the event never triggers....
Lol, I guess I'll just make the finishing blow instead of my spell....

The only thing bad about restoration is the time it takes to raise it. It is great for crowd control also. I enjoy this school of magic.

Didn't think so. Makes it hard for me to utilize restoration or any magic in Skyrim. Destruction gets weak, no daedra to conjure or armor or dagger, illusion is boring early on, enchanting is good, alchemy is ok and alteration is all defensive.

Sorry off topic.

I don't care for the Undead spells, but the Healing is nice. I haven't needed to master it yet though (even on mages). I like Wards, but it's not very efficient to me.. especially compared to Spellbreaker. I'd stop using shields if it was tweaked to work as well.

I can get to from 20 to 100 restoration within 30 minutes. You need a special spell which drains your health and regenerates your magicka is one hand and a healing spell in the other.

Yes, equilibrium. Problem is you need to complete the mages quest to get into labrynthian, and I wanted to get to 100 before then. So I did it the hard way.

I find it hilarious that I ended up glitching the game because the ghosts disintegrated. I had to wait for the spell to ware off before I killed them. No big deal, but it was a little annoying. Cant wait to try the master spells on vampires...And the new dg spells.

There is another spot you can get the spell at. It doesn't require any questlines... Just one small misc dungeon quest.

Nordic Tomb North of Riften. The name begins with an "A", if I'm correct. There is a small quest where you gotta kill a psychopathic necromancer at the end who wants revenge on someone for killing her love which she couldn't resurrect. You get the Ghostblade here. In the final room where the chest is, the spelltome is on the table nearby.

Necromage is one of the most powerful perks in the game, especially if your a necromancer or a vampire or both.

I do to, and that bit of knowledge escaped me.

Probably because 80 percent of the time I dont use magic.

Restoration magic is pointless!! Why would ANYONE want to be able to magically heal all their wounds, shield themselves from physical and magical damage, and also be able to successfully defend themselves from the potent undead horde?

Okay seriously.. Who would think that, ever? Why is that girl so friggin' paranoid.

Restoration is a magic must!
