Reviews! [possible spoilers in the links]

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 12:39 am

Ever notice how some reviewers personal preferences get in the way of a "good" review?

Seriously, the thing is not a well written review, but a review is based on someone's personal opinion. He really likes co-op. It wasn't there. For him, that meant the game wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been.

Really though, how can it be that this reviewer is not a conduit of ALL OPINIONS of EVERYONE EVER? What a tool.

hardly a review, more like a list of spoilers masquerading as professionalism

Silly. But on a more serious note, I heard they scrapped the ability to have a top-down view between turns while you position your gun turrets, what kind of RTS doesn't allow that!? Totally docking points from this game.

.... yeah when I get to left field, I'll try to catch that one.

I have no problem with spoilers. I have a problem with people that either a.) shove them down your throat. i.e post them in topic titles, create bait threads etc and b.) People that don't at least have the courtesy to warn you so you can make up your own mind.

But I digress, a simple toss on ignore and I won't have to worry about seeing that PM :cookie:

Im not actully gonna send you a PM, I don't like spoilers either, but you just seem to really hate spoilers, lol.

Spoilers aren't that bad really, I just wanted to make them big and pretty font for people to pay attention before they click. Some people hate even minor spoilers

I for one appreciate it,

I expect most of the reviews are going to have spoilers, if it was a main stream site i wouldn't be all that concerned but never heard of that site so I had no reason to trust they wouldn't be complete asses. I mean they did knock off a point for no co-op

The guy is a crappy reviewer and an ass to boot. I wouldn't review Gran Turismo and take off points because it wasn't an FPS.

Reviews should be on what a game is, and not what it is not.

Might as well take off a point because you can't have a .50 cal while COD has them. :sadvaultboy:

Rates a single-player game.

Downgrades for no co-op.

Nice.

That's like being pissed at an orange cause it isn't an apple. TES is a single-player experience. They'd as well dock it points because it doesn't have laser guns.
Yet...

Give it time after the creation set comes out. Someone will mod in laser guns

What about oranges and apples though, will we get THOSE modded in, particularly oranges that TURN INTO apples!

Some of you guys are hilarious to listen to on this co-op debate. Just because ES has never done co-op before doesn't mean that co-op wouldn't work. And I'm sick of all the "if you want co-op go play Game X". If we wanted co-op for the sake of having co-op we wouldn't be on this forum, we'd be playing those co-op games. The ES games are incredible and being able to experience these games with a good friend would be amazing.

There's no co-op?!?! Pre-order canceled!

Imagine how much how much of an idiot this reviewer is to have no idea what Elder Scrolls even is. I can't believe some of these reviewers; to review something you need to do a little bit of research on the subject matter people! You can't just sit down and open your mouth, you have to know what your talking about.

Some of you really would be happier if the Cons was worse huh?

For example.

Cons:

- Way too buggy
- Graphics way below par by todays standards
- Dragons not all they was hyped up to be
- Choice of weapons is minute
- Animations really not realistic, even for a Fantasy game

Final Score 6/10

----

Stop hanging on the Co-op [censored], seriously. It's a [censored] review regardless of that. No actual info about gameplay, graphics, story or anything. More like a blurb.

Reviews are a farce anyway, people. As if a number could represent a game's quality. And many reviewers have the most ill informed, bass ackwards opinions on what makes a good game. At the end of the day, our own opinions are all the matter. And we'll all know the truth of Skyrim's quality soon.

9/10 is a very good score, but yes I agree with other posters that the "review" is badly written - sounds more like a preview and the writer could have been a bit more creative with the cons of the the game. The Elder Scrolls has always been a single-player type of game, so to expect multi-player is a bit like asking why don't WoW have offline, single player option.

You guys act like ES is above all else a singleplayer game. Like that's its only aspect. This game is about playing the game you want to play. There is more to the ES games than singleplayer. Co-op would add so much to ES and create such a fun game playing with good friends.

A video game review depicts how the reviewer experienced the video game. His experience was a little less special FOR HIM, because it didn't have something that he likes in a video game.

Should he have expected co-op? No, and I doubt he did. Should he not mention the fact that he didn't have as much fun with the game because it was not there? No, that is ridiculous. You don't stifle your own opinion because it does not align with others.

Also wouldve took a lot out of teh SP too. Plenty of co op games about nowadays, including RPG's. I would never want TES to go mp/co-op.

Well, Oblivion had fruit. I'm sure we'll at least get apples. Oranges would be nice too, for bright colors... If they give us both, someone could write a script that lets you cast a spell on an apple to turn it into an orange... Oranges will become the new Watermellons :)
